Fun Fact About Jen! MANY years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to be featured on not one, but TWO HGTV shows: Design Star AND Showhouse Showdown! 🏡

It was such a fun and unforgettable experience stepping into the fast-paced world of TV design competitions. From creating spaces under tight deadlines to thinking creatively on the spot, those shows challenged me in the best ways possible and helped shape my design perspective early in my career.

One thing I learned quickly? Great design is about more than just how a space looks, it’s about how it makes people feel. That philosophy still inspires every project I take on today at JG Color Studios.

A fireplace remodel may look simple in the final photo, but the magic is in the planning. ✨

Swipe to see the process—from elevations and SketchUp renderings to the finished installation. These tools help our clients visualize scale, proportions, and materials before construction begins, creating alignment with the build team and minimizing surprises along the way.

For this project, we paired American Clay plaster with a reclaimed chiseled limestone mantel and reclaimed hammered French limestone hearth for a warm, grounded, timeless result.

From framing to finishing touches… this kitchen transformation is the perfect reminder that great design is built layer by layer.

From reviewing blueprints on-site to selecting the perfect wood tones, stone slabs, and paint colors, every detail was intentionally chosen to create a space that feels warm, elevated, and timeless.

In this project, our clients embraced sustainability in every design decision, thoughtfully blending natural elements throughout the space. From the dramatic movement of the quartzite countertops and backsplash to the rich eucalyptus cabinetry, every detail was chosen with intention. Sunlight pours through the windows as the family gathers to cook, creating a space that feels warm, connected, and truly magical.

So honored to be featured in the Portraits series! ✨

My path to interior design was anything but straight. Fashion, printmaking, a painting business, HGTV, and everything in between... but every twist led me exactly where I was meant to be.

I also got to talk about some of my favorite colors: the timeless Milk Glass (DEW358), the sunshine-filled Pueblo Rose (DET438) paired with O'Brien Orange (DET460) and Golden Rays (DE5423). Pure California joy.
