Back in the early 1990s, my younger brother, Jon McCoy, and I created what would become the original JON and KATHRYN MCCOY Quartz Votive. We began with four timeless natural stones—Brazilian Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Smoky Black Quartz, and Citrine—handcrafting each votive and bowl with a vision of bringing the beauty of nature into luxury interiors.

A dream became reality when Neiman Marcus became our very first customer, launching a journey that continues to inspire us today.

Inspired by the timeless elegance and soaring architecture of New York City’s iconic Empire State Building, the Empire Lamp is a tribute to one of the most exciting chapters of my design journey.

Years ago, Kathryn had the privilege of opening a KATHRYN MCCOY showroom and corporate office in the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING in New York City,. This is where she worked alongside some of the world’s most prestigious retailers, including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel, Gorsuch, Le Crillon Hotel, and many others.

Today, that inspiration lives on in this sculptural masterpiece—handcrafted from luminous natural selenite, capturing the brilliance, sophistication, and spirit of Manhattan.
