Creating a new, purposeful space out of an existing building is both exciting and meaningful. We are gratified to be a part of San Ysidro Health's transformation of the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation’s (JCNI) iconic Joe & Vi Jacobs Center in southeast San Diego into a new Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and an urgent care clinic.

The project is moving along and the progress photos show how the inside of the building is being transformed into a town square with themed storefronts, and an expansive, multi-layered ceiling concept that will bring the feeling of San Diego's blue sky indoors so that participants can enjoy a sunny day every day. Hundreds of seniors will be served once the project is complete. We can't wait!

Turning a temporary branch into a blueprint for the future: see how FS Design Group partnered with MyPoint Credit Union to transform a former AT&T store into a bold, member-first space, one that's now shaping the design of their permanent MyPoint Midway flagship branch and community center. All work and no play? Nah.

We work well AND play well together. It was a grand time having a “beach session” with the team from Surface Society SD (and perusing all the gorgeous finish samples)! It’s hard not to relax a little when flower leis and drink umbrellas are involved. A big thanks to the reps from Surface Society SD!

A great senior living dining space should do more than serve meals.

At Front Porch’s Wesley Palms Retirement Community in San Diego, FS Design Group is helping transform an existing space into a flexible café and community hub designed to support connection, wellness and healthy aging. From abundant natural light and living walls to adaptable gathering spaces and hospitality-inspired design, every element was chosen to enhance the resident experience.

FS Design Group worked closely with Orness Design Group Inc. to seamlessly integrate food service functionality into the space. Custom solutions allow dining operations to appear when needed and recede when not in use, helping the café transition effortlessly between hospitality venue, gathering space and community living room.

We believe an internship program is valuable, and it’s one way FS Design Group invests in our community.

This summer, we’ve enjoyed having Colorado State University third-year student Leah Wahlstrom as our intern. Leah said that she loved visiting job sites, contributing to active projects, communicating with manufacturer representatives and learning new software.

“Seeing the progress in person and connecting it to work happening in the office has been such a cool thing to experience and has given me so much appreciation for the entirety of the design process,” she said.

We’re honored to continue the tradition of developing the future generation of design talent by working with Leah to strengthen and expand her interior design process knowledge and skills in preparation for her bright future in the field.

Congratulations to our client On Lok PACE for the grand opening last month of their newest PACE Center in South San Jose. We are honored to be part of their efforts to enrich the lives of older adults and their families.

Project Spotlight: San Diego Fertility Center’s New Mission Valley Clinic

We’re honored to partner once again with Raymond Fox & Associates and the incredible team at San Diego Fertility Center Center — this time on the design of their new 9,000 SF Mission Valley clinic.

FS Design Group created spa-inspired interiors that bring a sense of calm, luxury and care to a highly technical medical environment. From a beachy, serene lobby to high-end consultation rooms, advanced ultrasound suites, IVF lab space, cryogenic storage and a beautifully finished operating room, every detail was crafted to reflect SDFC’s world-class reputation.
