I am incredibly proud to share that our residential project in Świnoujście, Poland has been awarded

THE BEST RESIDENTIAL DESIGN IN POLAND

at the European Property Awards.

Last year, we received The Best Kitchen in California, and this year we were also named Leading Luxury Bespoke Interior Design Atelier in the United States of America. And now - Poland.

I live now and create in the US, but I was born and raised in Poland. To be recognized as The Best in Poland, in the country I come from, carries a different kind of emotion.

Receiving such extraordinary recognition on both sides of the ocean is deeply humbling and affirming. It celebrates not only what we design, but the philosophy, care, and meaning behind our work.

Designing with daylight is designing for wellbeing.

Through advanced analysis, sunlight, shadows, and shading can be understood for any location, time, and season - before a single decision is made.

Because how light behaves in your space shapes design decisions - and those decisions shape your nervous system and wellbeing.

This allows design to go beyond aesthetics - into precision.

🔘 Mapping where light energizes and where it should be softened
🔘 Planning layouts that support focus, rest, and daily rhythm
🔘 Selecting materials and finishes to prevent glare, reflections, and visual fatigue
🔘 Positioning furniture to avoid discomfort, overheating, and eye strain
🔘 Protecting materials, artwork, and fabrics from long-term sun damage
🔘 Balancing natural and artificial light for a consistent, calming atmosphere
🔘 Understanding how color, texture, and surfaces truly appear throughout the day

It also allows deeper clarity beyond interiors:
🔘 Evaluating real estate based on true light conditions
🔘 Optimizing solar potential and energy efficiency
🔘 Planning landscaping based on sun and shade patterns
🔘 Testing architectural impact and shading in surrounding environments

Because daylight is not just a design element -
it is the foundation of how a space feels.

In all our projects ✨

Some spaces are created quietly.
And then they travel farther than imagined.

The Rancho Santa Fe Residence winner of THE BEST KITCHEN IN CALIFORNIA 2025-2026 is now featured in International Property & Travel — presented in First and Business Class on Emirates.

From California to the world, at 40,000 feet.

A kitchen designed as the heart of a home.
Now part of a global conversation on design.

Grateful to see this project celebrated on an international stage.

The conversation around luxury is changing.

For decades, real estate measured value in size, location, and finishes.
Today, value is increasingly measured in regulation, recovery, and longevity.

Wellness Real Estate is not a niche. It is one of the fastest-growing sectors globally. Buyers are not simply purchasing homes - they are choosing environments that support how they function, think, and age.

When nearly 90% of life happens indoors, design becomes more than aesthetic.
It becomes structural to wellbeing.

The future of design is physiological, not just visual.

The homes that will matter most in the decade ahead will be the ones that support life - not just lifestyle.

The essence of KBI NeuroDesign.

YOU CANNOT HEAL IN A PLACE THAT IS DISCONNECTED FROM YOU.
FROM YOUR BODY FROM YOUR RHYTHM. FROM YOUR INNER WORLD.

Wellness is no longer reserved for retreats and resorts. Today, it begins at home.

We are entering a new era of design—one that no longer asks only “How does it look?" But "How does it support human functioning?"
Beauty remains the language. Science refines it.
Presence and regulated nervous system becomes the proof.

THIS IS THE NEXT ERA OF LIVING.

For those who don’t just want a beautiful home —
but a space that supports how they live, feel, and function.

With love,
Karolina J. Barrett

Z rytmem. Z tym, co wewnętrzne.

Wellness nie należy już do odległych kurortów.
Dziś zaczyna się tam, gdzie wracamy każdego dnia —
w domu.

To początek nowej ery projektowania.

Karolina J. Barrett

Spectacular, Single Story, Equestrian Compound with magnificent sunsets overlooking the infinity edge pool.
8200 sq. ft. (760 m2) Main Home
1700 sq. ft. (158 m2) Guest House.

This home unfolded through a multi-phase transformation—approached not simply as a renovation, but as a complete sensory re-composition.

The original residence felt dark, fragmented, and disconnected. The intention was to open it gently—allowing light, flow, and emotion to guide every decision. What emerged is a deeply personalized environment where invisible functionality supports everyday life, and warmth anchors the home as a place for gathering.

Designed as a sanctuary for reflection, nourishment, and celebration, every surface, material, and transition was considered through the lens of feeling. How the space is experienced mattered as much as how it looks.

Guided by principles of neuroarchitecture, the home unfolds as a multisensory experience—where texture, color, acoustics, and spatial clarity work together to encourage calm, focus, and a sense of ease.

The project was recognized with a USA Property Award for Best Kitchen in California, and an Honorable Mention from the International Design Awards (IDA) for Residential Interior Design – Luxury Living.

We are deeply grateful to be able to create spaces of this kind—beauty shaped with intention, care, and meaning.

Design is not experienced intellectually.
It is registered by the body first.

Before we name a style,
before we notice beauty,
the nervous system responds to space.

A home can regulate or overstimulate.
It can support rest or prolong tension.
It can feel grounding — or quietly exhausting.

This is why homes cannot be reduced to mood boards.
They are lived environments, shaping daily experience over time.

When design moves beyond appearance
and begins to support how we function,
how we rest,
how we recover,
it becomes something else entirely.

Let me take you on a journey into human-centered design —
one that explores its nuances and explains, through proven scientific research,
how we perceive interiors
and how profoundly they affect us.

Projektowanie nie jest doświadczane intelektualnie.
Najpierw rejestruje je ciało.

Zanim nazwiemy styl,

To środowisko, w którym żyjemy —

01/09/2026

To głębsza ewolucja zawodu — którą dziś tworzymy wspólnie.

Zapraszam
Karolina J. Barrett

In quiet, a new definition of design is emerging.

Not style or trends define it,
but awareness — an understanding that the spaces we create subtly shape human life.

Design is no longer concerned only with what endures visually.
It is about how space is experienced by the nervous system, how it supports regulation, presence, and well-being.

Design that begins with people
and moves beyond aesthetics is not a trend.
It is shaping the future of design.
Not a passing movement, but a deeper evolution of the profession — one we are shaping together today.

This book is an invitation into that journey.
An invitation to see design through a more conscious,
more human lens — grounded in how space truly affects us.
