One of the great joys of designing L’ArrivĂ©e was getting to work in conversation with the home’s existing architecture rather than against it. The coffered ceilings, carved staircase, leaded glass, and original millwork already carried such a strong sense of history- our role became one of refinement and continuation.⁠

By softening the paneling in a pale blue-green limewash and layering in sculptural furnishings and lighting, we wanted the architecture to feel illuminated rather than overshadowed. The result is a space that feels rooted in the past while still unmistakably of the present. ⁠

The L’ArrivĂ©e was designed as a sequence of unfolding moments rather than a singular entry. The tented passage creates a deliberate compression before the space opens into the coffered hall beyond- a quiet architectural pause that shifts the experience from intimate to expansive.⁠
