An original abstract painting framed in a matte black frame from Studio Moulding, paired with a crisp white mat for a clean, contemporary presentation. The double-sided frame features Museum Glass by Tru Vue on the front and conservation acrylic on the back, allowing both the artwork and a handwritten note to be beautifully displayed.

We recently completed our largest project to date. A major factor in the project’s success was the strength of Walter Adams Framing’s long-standing vendor relationships.

The beautifully crafted solid walnut moulding was supplied by Picture Woods, Ltd., a company that uses sustainably harvested domestic hardwoods. We only partner with vendors that use the highest quality materials and value client-centered relationships. Shared values is part of what makes a working relationship successful.

These painted aprons by artist Suzy Barnard deserved equally sophisticated frames. We framed them in a shadowbox style using blue Heartland frames from House of Maes. The client wanted to see the artist's signature, which was on the back of one of the aprons. We had the signature scanned and reprinted on canvas by Hanson Digital Fine Art Printing & Art Scanning , which we then attached to the front of one apron. The aprons are stitched to a gray hand-wrapped mat with matching sidewalls, and glazed with conservation clear glass for protection and clarity.

A typical large framing piece might require approximately 14 feet of moulding. This project required over 3,000 feet of moulding. For context, that's nearly the length of 10 football fields placed end to end!

When Walter Adams Framing first partnered with acrylicize on a large-scale design project, the scope was already ambitious. Now, with the full project completed, the scale of what was accomplished has come fully into focus. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Walter Adams Framing team produced and installed 324 custom frames:

Producing 324 custom frames on a tight deadline requires infrastructure, flexibility, and smart resource management. Over 3000 ft of solid walnut moulding from Picture Woods, Ltd., over 2000 sq ft of Optium Museum Acrylic by Tru Vue, almost 2600 wedges for the corners, 1000 yards of tape, 600 screws... and so much more. See how we ensured that this large-scale project was handled with the same care and craftsmanship as a single bespoke piece.

The San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2026 returns for its 47th year, inviting the public into a remarkable 1897 Queen Anne Victorian in Pacific Heights—transformed room by room by some of the region’s most influential designers.

As proud supporters of the design community, we were honored to have a full page in the program book and we had a wonderful time joining fellow designers, makers, and visionaries for this iconic event. The San Francisco Decorator Showcase runs April 25 – May 25 and you can find more information at https://www.decoratorshowcase.org/

There’s large… and then there’s over 110 inches tall. The special quality of oversized artwork is that it defines a space. With that scale comes a unique set of challenges that demand more than off-the-shelf solutions.

Learn how we work with oversized artwork and the steps we take to ensure durability:

Custom framing oversized artwork is an opportunity to do something exceptional. Oversized art has the power to transform a room, but only when it’s framed with the same level of intention as the artwork itself.
