The chair your client inherited doesn't need replacing; it needs someone who knows how to bring it back.

But the problem is that most of the time, bringing it back means becoming a project manager you never signed up to be…

Different vendors, different timelines, different quotes…

And a client asking, “Why is my project delayed?”

We built Revitaliste so that chair only ever has to go to one place. And you… never have to worry about managing different vendors.

Upholstery, refinishing, lacquering, caning, powder coating - the full craft of furniture revitalization, under one roof, with one person tracking the whole thing from pickup to delivery.

Swipe to see how we make it effortless to give new life to old furniture.

Sculptural leather puzzle. That's the only way to describe this chair. 🧩

The 1980s De Sede DS-2011 Lounge Chair has opinions. Those waterfall arms, the continuous leather panels, the tension that creates the silhouette… It's part upholstery, part industrial design restoration. Find the wrong leather and the curves fight back. Cut too close and an entire hide is gone.

Pieces like this are why we're particular about who works on them. Every curve on this chair earned its finish.

Thank you for trusting us with this one.

Have you ever specified a piece that turned out to be far more complex than expected? Tell us below. 👇

Have you ever wondered how we create an ultra-high-gloss "piano" finish?

For this project, it started with a rather beat-up set of nesting tables, victim of a failed DIY refinishing project. And then 7 meticulous steps...

1. Putty (a lot, in this case!).
2. Sand (over and over and over again).
3. Prime.
4. Pink foundation (yes, really).
5. A perfect stripe (it's a lot harder than it looks).
6. Lacquer (a couple of coats).
7. Then wet-polish until the surface reflects like glass.

The result? An heirloom-quality finish on a piece that narrowly escaped the landfill.

Have a client piece begging for a piano finish? Let's do it!

There’s nothing poor about the selection at in Oakland. It’s a veritable treasure trove of revitalization-worthy finds, and this month’s Dirty Dozen is proof.

Every month we scour Northern California’s best vintage sources for pieces that are just waiting for their next life. May’s dozen are all from Poor Honey.

Some rooms announce themselves. This one draws you in.

’s primary bedroom at this year’s is all restraint — muted reds woven into the textiles rather than splashed across the walls.

We reupholstered the bed and a pouf in ’s Cachet in claret, wrapped a second pouf in ’s Vladimiro mohair in bordeaux, and finished the pillows and last pouf in natural linen.

Quiet. Layered. Warm without trying. ✨

These beds grew up, but kept their roots. ✨

We lacquered this pair of vintage twin beds in custom green and upholstered them in vegan woven leather for ’s “Double Standard” at — a boys’ bedroom inspired by The Official Preppy Handbook and the stylized world of Rushmore.

Jeffrey’s concept? Growing up without leaving your roots behind. Two beds, two young men on the verge of independence, stepping into their own point of view.

The beds embody that: beautifully constructed, timeless frames built to last lifetimes, now elevated with deep, confident lacquer and warm woven leather you want to reach out and touch. More sophisticated, but still grounded in what made them worth keeping in the first place.

Classic codes, personal interpretation. ✨

Four chairs. One flamestitch. Zero chance you’re leaving this table early. 🀄️

We reupholstered these game chairs in Kamut Embroidery for ’s “Well Played” game room at — soft, undulating waves of color against crisp white frames. The embroidered flamestitch brings a richness you can feel from across the table. And up close? Even better.

Aly’s room is the kind of space that pulls you in and won’t let you leave: whimsical, warm, and designed down to the custom engraved switchplates. A sunlit game room anchored by a custom Mahjong table, a curved sofa for storytelling, and chairs that earned their seat at the table.

Earth Day + Decorator Showcase: A Love Story 🌍💚

For the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with incredible designers who choose revitalization over replacement — and showcase those transformed pieces to thousands of visitors each May at .

That choice matters. When a designer gives an “old” piece new life in a Showhouse room, they’re not just making a design statement — they’re shifting how people think about what’s possible. Visitors walk through, see a reupholstered vintage chair or refinished dresser, and suddenly those pieces gathering dust in their own homes look different.

Designers are influencers in the truest sense, and Decorator Showcase amplifies that influence. Choosing to revitalize instead of buy new isn’t just good for the planet — it’s a creative challenge, a nod to craftsmanship, and proof that sustainability and style aren’t mutually exclusive.

So today, on Earth Day, we’re celebrating the designers who’ve trusted us to bring their visions to life while keeping beautiful pieces out of landfills. Thank you for being part of the solution — and for inspiring thousands of people to see furniture differently.
Here’s to another decade of transformations. 🌿✨

Swipe through some of our favorite Showcase collabs over the years.
