We’re excited to share that RoseBernard Studio is heading to Napa this week for the Boutique Design Summer Forum 2026, hosted by Boutique Design | BDNY!

Justin Colombik and Anna Danilova will be spending the next few days connecting with peers across the hospitality industry, exchanging ideas, building relationships, and engaging in conversations about where hospitality design is headed.

Stepping away from the studio to listen, learn, and connect with others is an important part of our creative process. The insights, perspectives, and relationships we gain through events like these continue to shape how we approach our work and the experiences we create.

It’s always meaningful to see a project continue to evolve long after the initial concepts leave your hands.

Years ago, RoseBernard Studio was engaged to help shape the early vision, planning principles, guest flow strategies, and spatial framework for Delta’s next generation of Sky Clubs.

Working closely with the client, we explored how the traveler experience could be elevated through thoughtful circulation, intuitive layouts, hospitality-driven programming, and a stronger connection to place.

The project has since evolved through the work of many talented teams, and it’s gratifying to see the Delta Sky Club at Salt Lake City International Airport recognized by Interior Design magazine.

What matters most to us is not seeing a specific detail or material remain. It’s seeing the foundational ideas endure: ideas about how people move, gather, work, rest, and connect while traveling.

Great hospitality design begins long before finishes and furniture selections. It begins with understanding people, behavior, and experience. When that framework is strong, it creates a foundation others can build upon for years to come.

One phrase stayed with us throughout Milan Design Week:

Visiting Castiglioni’s workshop studio revealed a practice grounded not in endless invention, but in attention. Everyday objects, industrial fragments, found materials, improvised mechanisms, all approached with relentless curiosity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What felt especially relevant today is the reminder that creativity doesn’t begin from nothing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It begins by learning how to notice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Many of the most resonant projects during Milan Design Week 2026 embodied this same philosophy: working with existing conditions, forgotten or repurposed materials, aging architecture, and systems already embedded in the world around us.

There was also something deeply moving in Castiglioni’s belief that objects should become so natural, so integrated into everyday life, that their creator almost disappears behind their usefulness.

Not novelty for the sake of novelty, but careful observation, experimentation, and the quiet transformation of the ordinary into something meaningful.

Perhaps contemporary design is shifting away from creating entirely new objects and toward reinterpreting what is already here - with greater care, intelligence, and imagination.

At Les Arcs, Charlotte Perriand shaped a new way of living in the mountains during the late 1960s and 1970s. The architecture settles into the terrain, allowing the landscape to lead the experience.

Her interiors are thoughtful and precise. Built-in elements, modular systems, and honest materials create a quiet rhythm that supports daily life at altitude. Light, views, and movement through space are considered at every turn.
