From the perfect wallpaper pattern to layered textures, curated furnishings, and the smallest architectural touches - once your eyes are trained, every room, every corner, every detail starts telling a story.

You’ll catch yourself admiring moldings, light fixtures, color palettes, and textures in places you never noticed before.

Design isn’t just about the big pieces - it’s about celebrating the tiny moments that make a space feel intentional, personal, and unforgettable.

I get asked all the time what I actually do as an interior designer—so here’s a glimpse into a typical day.

Wake up (6:15AM usually) Check email.

Not every designer runs their business this way, but I don’t believe in barriers with clients.

I’ve responded to texts at 11pm and Saturday mornings at 9am—because while this is my job, for my clients, designing their home happens outside of theirs.

So I make myself available. Morning routine—shower, breakfast, get dressed, workout—checking emails in between.

Then the day really begins:

Site visits, client meetings, vendor appointments, or board meetings—no two days look the same.

In between? Checking email.

Off to the office. More email.

Reviewing client trays (how we build out schemes—materials, finishes, inspiration).

Sourcing through the library. More email.

A quick check on my steps—if I haven’t hit 10,000, I’m outside walking with my phone, still working.

Calls with vendors.

Following up on outstanding items. Responding to emails. Designing, sourcing, paperwork.

Evenings might be dinner with friends or an industry event— and then home… for (you guessed it) more email.

While ultimately my job is about creating spaces that feel layered, thoughtful, and timeless- finding fun ways to use wallpaper, texture, and custom details which requires sourcing, designing in CAD, or refining every last detail— you can safely assume I’m checking email.

A million things at once, if I’m being honest. At DBI, we’re typically running eight projects simultaneously at a minimum —each with its own scope and phase—which means I’m constantly moving between checklists, seeking inspiration, and checking in with my team - not to mention everything else I have also committed too - but work tends to occupy the most brain space!

This is how your home begins to feel alive when you embrace color, texture, and textiles. 🌱

Layered fabrics, thoughtful patterns, sculptural lighting, and pieces that bring personality into every corner. Basically storytelling through design. At Dina Bandman Interiors, this layered, expressive approach has become a signature.

Mixing bold color, rich textiles, wallpaper, antiques, and modern pieces to create spaces that feel curated, timeless, and full of life.

My husband probably wishes my obsession with custom ended with couture… But if you’ve been following for a minute, you know what I’m really obsessed with - custom interior design elements that are one of a kind.

I wish I could have it all but if I had to pick I would choose a well decorate home over a well collected closet. A room built around a one-of-a-kind piece? A custom millwork detail that took time in CAD to finalize the scale?

A hand-plastered wall that changes color depending on the hour? That’s the thing that really makes my heart skip a beat! Custom is where design gets personal. It’s where a space stops being a collection of beautiful objects and starts being an extension of the person living inside it. Anyone can buy the same sofa.

No one else has that magnolia ceiling. And in a world where everyone wants everything NOW, I dont midn that the details take time- good design takes time. The pieces that can’t be duplicated. The elements that make a client say - I’ve never seen anything like this. That’s the goal. That’s always been the goal.

I love when a room feels well appointed, but not forced- thoughtful but also casual - where you can host a dinner party one night but have your pets hang on the furniture too.

With layers, texture, and personality that reflect the people and the furry friends who live there. At its core, Fresh Traditional is about honoring the past - what is tried and true - while designing for real life today.

Spaces that feel timeless, personal, and quietly beautiful - and when reviewed let’s say 30, 40, 100 years from now - don’t evoke “What were they (or she!!) thinking?!?!”

This philosophy guides all of my work. I focus on creating homes that respect classic architecture and craftsmanship, while editing and reimagining them for how we actually live now.

I’m always looking for a balance between old and new - nothing should be too overly designed. My goal is never to chase trends, but rather use history and traditions to help guide spaces that excude practical, warm, and enduring.

Homes that reflect the people who live there and most importantly “just feel good” - you know that just have that “je ne sais quoi”!

If you love interior design, follow along. We’re designing homes across the U.S. - currently in Del Rey Florida, Whitefish Montana, Jacksons Wyoming and of course our beloved Bay - this San Francisco based interior designer believes in layered spaces, timeless foundations, and that the devil is in the details! From fresh traditional city homes to relaxed suburban retreats, we’re sharing the process, the fabrics, the finishes, and the stories behind every room.

When I started planning Olivia’s first birthday, I knew it had to be beautifully designed. With the help of my fabulous party planner, Luciano of His & Hers Events, it felt necessary to embrace the fact that her first birthday fell on Super Bowl Sunday.

While we initially toyed with the idea of a frat-party-themed first birthday, the concept quickly evolved into something far more fitting: “Tutus & Touchdowns”.

The vision: soft blush and ballet pink layered with subtle football details. Tailgate, but make it chic. Bows on mini jerseys. A brunch table that felt like a game-day spread reimagined through a little girl’s lens. Like every good design process, Luciano began with a concept board.

Working with His & Hers Events is always such a joy because their process feels so similar to my own with clients, and Luciano’s attention to detail is truly unmatched.

Instead of bold team colors, we softened everything. Instead of loud graphics, we leaned into texture: linen tablecloths, layered balloons in tonal pinks, and beaded details draped from the chandeliers. I wanted it to feel elevated, but still age-appropriate, much like a home I would design for a client—beautifully considered, but comfortable enough to truly enjoy the morning in.

Nothing too precious, we had 50 kids invited!

Watching our guests gather—Olivia’s little friends from Mommy & Me, family, friends with kids and without—and seeing Olivia smash her banana cake surrounded by all the pink game-day details, it didn’t matter that our home town team, the 49ers, wasn’t in the Super Bowl- our first baby bowl was a total first down!

Since moving back to Cow Hollow (and committing to my 2026 resolution of walking 10,000 steps a day) I’ve been strolling through the neighborhood daily and just amazed by the beauty of our city and the architecture throughout. Every block feels like a design lesson - so many details to admire. I wish I had the time to research each of these homes history. In fact I would love to learn more about our house- built in 1924 and what the story is about the two little cherubs that sit on the 2nd and 3rd floor. I have never seen another house with them!

At DBI- our philosophy is to lean into the architecture, the history, the charm… and then layer in color, pattern, and personality that feels fresh, tailored while still honoring what already exists.

From Pacific Heights Victorians to Montana White Fish Modern, every project is about balance- respecting the existing architecture (or changing it if needed) and the client’s desires to infuse their personality and aesthetic preference. It is not about competing with the architecture but rather conversing with it and interior design being an extension of it.

DBI turned 10 years old in October - it was hard to pinpoint a date when DBI started because for a few years after starting I still free lanced for other designers, but! I decided the day I purchased www.dinabandman.com (http://www.dinabandman.com/) should be my anniversary date.

Mark Twain has so many good quotes and “Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” especially resonates. I could not be happier that I pivoted careers and never pursued law and instead pursued my passion - Interior design.

I love my job and am so grateful for the opportunity to create beautiful spaces for our clients and to never feel like I am working
