At O+A, staircases are more than a way to move through a space—they’re an opportunity to tell a story. From large-scale architectural installations to floor graphics that mimic a rug—even down to the exact number of steps an employee takes—every detail is intentional.

Swipe through some of our most memorable stair designs and discover how a striking staircase can completely define the character of a space.

At O+A, we’re a multidisciplinary design studio where every aspect of a project is thoughtfully considered. From lighting, artwork, and signage to custom reception desks, each element is carefully curated to create a cohesive and intentional experience.

Recently we had the opportunity to help reposition a historic building for a new generation. Inspired by the building’s legacy, our goal is to honor its roots while making it feel relevant for today.

This project spans a variety of spaces, including a public French café and bakery, a newly reimagined building lobby, and a private rooftop terrace. One project, three palettes.

We’re excited to be part of San Francisco’s continued evolution and grateful for the opportunity to help shape more welcoming, vibrant public places. ✨

Earlier this spring, Primo traveled to New York for this year’s Design Nation Conference, where he led an executive seminar and joined Princeton students for a conversation on Studio O+A’s journey.

The theme for the conference was “Morph”, and the integration of design with business. The discussion touched on engineered serendipity, democratic design, access to natural light, and the ways workplaces can foster connection and community.

Recently, our Principal & Design Director, Grace Eun, attended Milan Design Week 2026.

From the bold architectural geometry of Christophe Pillet to the expressive silhouettes at Mara, the event was a masterclass in using form and function to evoke sensory experiences. Grace also explored refined material palettes at Salone del Mobile and found a moment of serenity at the Pinacoteca di Brera loggia installation.

Swipe through for a few highlights from her inspiring week in Milan.

In a recent episode on the Futurespaces channel, hosted by Josh Goldblum (Bluecadet), sponsored by hyz studio, Primo shared the philosophy behind Studio O+A's approach to workplace design — where narrative always comes before aesthetics, and the most meaningful spaces are the ones rooted in something real. This philosophy has shaped many award winning projects for Slack, adidas, McDonald's, Yelp, Microsoft, and Hyundai Motor Company.

Happy Earth Day! O+A is taking a moment to revisit some of our favorite projects with outdoor spaces. From works areas that open up to nature, to outdoor gyms, these designs remind us that's keeping the natural environment in mind while designing is a commitment to the physical and mental well-being of the people who use them everyday. 🌎
