Some nights, the best place to be in New York is right here.

From ceiling to walls, a haze of dusky sage limewash gives this bedroom its wonderfully cocoon-like character, with a custom JSDS bed designed to make the most of every inch.

There’s something wonderful about loving where you land at the end of the day.

For the love of art, good company, and having somewhere beautiful to bring them together.

In this Chelsea living room, a rich wine-colored sofa sits among expressive artwork, custom Rift Studio (Rift Cabinetry) cabinetry, and furnishings that are every bit as interesting as the conversations they invite and the occupants themselves.

One room down, an entire New York home to discover. Take the full tour at the link in our bio.

The vision is the exciting part. Knowing how to get there is where we come in.

We help make the big decisions clearer, the highly personal ones more intentional, and the finishing layers feel like they could belong nowhere else.

Expertise makes the difference.

Full-Scale Remodels & Transformations

Designed around you. Not the other way around.

From private residences to commercial spaces, we collaborate with architects and builders to solve for the ways you move, gather, retreat, and live day to day.

We refine layouts, materials, lighting, and finishes around those needs, bringing every layer together into an interior that feels cohesive, considered, and built to last.

Interior Planning & Kitchen and Bath Design

Kitchens and baths leave very little room for “almost right.”

From cabinetry and millwork made specifically for the space to fixtures and finishes that bring the whole composition into focus, every element is considered as part of a larger whole.

It’s highly customized by nature, with the beauty coming from how precisely everything falls into place.

Furnishings & Decorative Layering

This is where the details begin to add up to something bigger.

We develop complete furnishing and decorating programs, including custom furniture, upholstery, window treatments, wallpaper, lighting, art, and accessories, building each layer to feel connected without feeling overly composed.

The goal is a home that feels like it could belong to no one else.

You bring us the charge. We bring the right minds to it.

This is the studio: where a room goes from a floor plan to a point of view, and classic design is choreographed by imagination.

Behind every JSDS project is a global team of creative thinkers balancing instinct with rigor, ambition with restraint, and vision with the realities of bringing it all to life.

While each home calls for a different expression, the intention remains constant: create spaces that are considered, deeply personal, and entirely right for the people who live there.

We’ve been designing custom furniture for our projects for years. Over time, the pieces felt too good to keep to ourselves.

The Jeff Schlarb Studio Collection distills the balance that shapes our interiors — substantial and delicate, classic and unexpected — into furnishings that feel integral to the space around them.

Each form is handcrafted and made to order, with an emphasis on exceptional fabrication, tactile materials, and details that reveal themselves over time.
