Volunteering can be time consuming but fulfilling when things come full circle.10 years ago while I was the chair of the Historic Landmarks Commission a controversial project came to us, The Wi******er Domes, a 1960s space era movie theater that was slated for demolition. Preservation Action Council nominated The Domes for a landmark status our commission unanimously approved it and is now a registered landmark. Our decision didn’t come with political backlash, our city council liaison tried to decommission me, and I had to fight for my position by pleating my case to the rules committee. 10 years later I took my children to see a restored Wi******er Dome and to show them an invaluable piece of San Jose architecture that could have been lost to the wrecking ball if it wasn’t for passionate San Jose residents. History was saved and now future generations, including my children, can enjoy the unique architecture and cultural significance of this era.

At T**A Architecture, we continue working on projects with high social impact that benefit our community. Today was the groundbreaking ceremony of Pathway House, a substance treatment facility in downtown San Jose. Special thanks to our industry partners Iron Construction, Inc. and all the elected officials that made the time to be part of this very special event. Sylvia Arenas, Cindy Chavez, Bien Doan, Susan Ellenberg and to my friend Frank Carbajal for all his support.

Construction will begin in the modernization of a 10K s.f. industrial building in East San Jose. Our client SCS Steel is relocating from the Five Wounds neighborhood to make room for the new BART station. We worked closely with District 5 council office and the planning department to obtain a Conditional Use Permit and keep SCS in San Jose along with 30 blue collar jobs filled mainly by workers of Mexican descent. Architecture is not only about design, is also about improving people’s lives.

T**a Architecture was the project architect for the San Jose Downtown Association and Property Based Improvement District’s SoFA Pocket Park, which re-imagined a previously blighted empty lot into a beautiful dog park and demonstration garden. Our staff and partners enjoyed working with Ramiro and his team, finding them easy to communicate with, open to trying new things, and responsive to feedback from all of the project participants. T**a is a reliable, flexible, and community-minded firm that helped downtown San Jose realize a wonderful project.

At T**A Architecture we have always been interested in exploring the intersection between Art and Architecture. We were given the opportunity to design a Master Plan for a private school and to draw inspiration we looked at the art by Erin Salazar of Local Color SJ. Her painting of flowers and plant life with all their beauty and free forms gave us the idea to articulate those forms into architectural elements. The result is a fantastic array of buildings and landscape that emulate nature and brings Architecture and Art closer.

New ground up gym at Valley Christian High, this is what our client is saying about us.
"The team at T**A Architecture has done a fantastic job with multiple projects on our campus at Valley Christian Schools. From ground up buildings to interior remodels, they have been an integral part of our on-going facility upgrades. The team is always very responsive to our needs and is available to be on-site whenever needed. We have very high standards for the facilities at our campuses and they were able to design the look and feel of our spaces to exceed those standards in every way. They also work very well with our general contractor and the city departments to make sure everything stays on track. I would highly recommend T**A to anyone looking for a quality architecture firm."

This recently completed facility is the newest building at Valley Christian High. The Human Performance Center is a state of the art gym, the roll-up doors open to be able to bring in natural light and the good weather minimizing the use of electricity and mechanical ventilation. T**A Architecture was commissioned for design, to amend the conditional use permit, construction documents and construction observation. We thank our industry partners South Bay Construction, Adam Tafralis, HMH Brian Glick, RLA, LEED AP, Bill Sowa.

Architectural Designer
(she/her)
As an Architectural Designer and a LEED Green Associate, Parisa is keenly aware of the effect of design on the environment and the impact of sustainable design on communities and workplaces. She is also passionate about making communities more accessible. Parisa listens to the client’s ideas and needs, then designs projects that bring the client’s vision to life. Her work connects and engages communities while keeping sustainability and accessibility in mind.
Parisa has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
“Whenever I travel internationally, I see the restrictions on accessibility in design; even using a bathroom can be a challenge. So when I design a project—a school, classroom, or workplace— I focus on making them accessible to everyone so the whole community can engage in the opportunities the space provides.”
