I’m so glad I got to share the art of batik stamping with the students from Almaden Country Day School , in collaboration with Local Color San Jose ! 🎨✨

It was such a joy seeing their creativity and excitement as they explored this traditional art form and created their own colorful pieces.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to share the beauty of batik with the next generation of young artists! 💛

Our very first Mid-Autumn collaboration with Dream Fields Indigo ｜台灣藍染工藝師在矽谷 ! 💙

From white fabric to wax, and then watching the magical transformation of indigo from green to deep indigo blue, it was such a fascinating experience. Everyone enjoyed slowing down, creating, and watching the process unfold.

The kids joined in too! They learned how to do batik stamping and experienced the magic of indigo dye firsthand. 💙

While waiting for the wax to be removed, we shared Malaysian jelly mooncakes and Taiwanese mooncakes together, a sweet way to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival through art, culture, and tradition.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this workshop such a fun and memorable experience. We truly enjoyed creating and celebrating with all of you! 🌙✨ dancingfoodiesf

Batik is a lot like life. Sometimes it’s stressful, sometimes meditative, and sometimes things simply don’t go as planned.

But then comes the color and that’s when the magic happens. ✨

Batik teaches us to embrace imperfections, trust the process, and enjoy the unexpected beauty along the way.

In our Intro to Batik Dyeing workshop, you’ll explore the beautiful process of waxing and dyeing on silk. Because silk is a natural fiber, colors can shift, blend, and transform during the dyeing process, so the final result may look a little different from what you expect. That’s part of the magic of batik, every piece is unique, and the final reveal is always a beautiful surprise! ✨

What a beautiful Mom & Me Batik Workshop! 💛✨

All of the scarves came out absolutely stunning after the wax was removed! It was so exciting to see each unique design and all the beautiful colors finally revealed.

While the moms were working on their batik scarves, the kids had their own special batik activity too! Each child got to paint and create their very own batik tote bag. 🎨👜

It was such a lovely day filled with creativity, quality time, and beautiful memories made together. 💕

A lot of people have been asking, “What is a Batik Wood Workshop?” 🌿

Batik Wood is a unique way of bringing the traditional batik technique onto wood instead of fabric! In this workshop, you’ll experience how wax and color behave differently on a wooden surface while creating your own beautiful batik wood piece.

We always love hosting our Mom & Me Batik Painting Events. 💕 It’s such a special way for moms to take a little time for themselves, slow down, and enjoy creating, while their little ones get to explore, learn, and experience something new with batik too.

Every batik scarf turned out absolutely stunning, and we loved seeing how creative the kids were with their batik tote bags! 🎨✨

It was a beautiful day of creativity, connection, and making something special together.

We have something extra special planned this month at iRidescent Batik Studio! 🍂💙

Along with our Batik on Wood Workshop, we’re excited to collaborate with Dream Fields Indigo ｜台灣藍染工藝師在矽谷 for a special Mid-Autumn Festival celebration 🌙✨

And you know what makes it even better? Childcare is included! 🤍 While moms enjoy some creative time making their own batik piece, the little ones will have their own activities and get to experience the magic of batik + indigo dyeing too!

Together, we’ll create, dye, celebrate, and enjoy a cozy afternoon inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival with traditional mooncakes, Malaysian-style jelly mooncakes, tea, and sweet moments to share. 🥮🫖

No kids? You’re absolutely welcome too! Come experience the beautiful combination of batik and natural indigo dyeing and celebrate the season with us.
