Tge roots are key 🔑 to strength
Do you ever wonder what's going to be your legacy?
I've been thinking about it a lot and my plan is to plant a little orchard. I (well, dad) planted around 15 apple trees last year but that was in the garden.
But this new place, this I'm hoping will be so lovely that people might just leave it alone for many, many years to come. I'm going to get a wild pear tree and a few crab apple trees. And because it's expensive, I'm going to plant the 4 little apple trees I grew from pips last year. And I'll add one or two trees each year over time.
And of course there will be a new wildlife pond. And areas of hedging that are lovely homes for birds too.
I'm hoping that I can make it this lovely little home for wildlife. Add a bench. Some poetry burnt onto wood to go on display (I'm sure that won't last very long but it'll be fun trying).
It's been something to think about whilst it's still so dark in these winter months and something I'm really looking forward to.
I'm going to try and do another '7 days of...' next week. I'm not quite sure what the theme will be yet but will try to get my brain into gear :-)
