The Love Temple at Villa Montalvo stops you in your tracks on its own.

Tall white columns. Garden framing the ceremony space. A place that already holds something sacred.

And then you add flowers to it.

We built three pillar installations on-site — the kind you can’t bring pre-made, because they have to be attached directly to the stone. Hydrangea as the base. Then amaranth, anthurium, orchids, vintage rose-toned blooms layered in until each column felt like it had always grown that way.

Nadine’s bouquet was exactly what we planned from the first conversation. Calla lilies, amaranth, anthurium, orchids — white with just enough color to feel alive. Modern. Lush. Hers.

There are weddings where the venue does the work, and you just try not to get in the way. This was one of those — and I mean that as the highest compliment I know how to give a space.

Nadine and Angel, thank you for trusting us with this one.

A design meeting isn’t optional for me — it’s where the whole table comes to life before your wedding day.

We hold a charger next to a glass. A glass next to a linen swatch. A linen next to a bloom. Every element has to speak the same language — the ribbed pattern on a charger should echo in the glassware, the texture of the floral should complement the linen, not compete with it.

Most guests can’t explain why a table looks elevated. They just feel it. This is why.

The flowers are part of the story. But they’re never the whole sentence.

A site visit isn’t just a walkthrough. It’s where I learn everything the venue won’t tell you — and everything your wedding day depends on.

There’s something about October that makes me want to slow down and actually look.

The spiderwebs in the corners. The way the light changes. The earth quietly putting things to rest before winter — and somehow it’s the most beautiful it’s been all year.

I made this piece when I felt that shift coming. A pumpkin as the base, wheat reaching out like arms wide open, dahlias and sunflowers still burning bright, rosehips and ginkgo and little fruit tucked in like secrets. Melancholy and romantic at the same time. Fall does that.

If you feel it too — that pull between endings and beauty — you’re not alone.

And if you’re planning something this fall: the weddings, the events, the celebrations happening right now are some of the most stunning ones I’ve ever worked on. The season isn’t closing. It’s deepening. What does fall feel like to you?

What Monday Looks Like

Nobody sees Monday.

By the time my team arrives on Tuesday, everything is already pulled, counted, labeled, and organized. The vessels are out. The stands are clean. The candles are sorted. The inventory has been checked twice. The shopping list is written.

That’s Monday.

I spend a few hours alone in the studio — just me, a cart, and a clipboard. I pull every vessel, every compote, every stand we might need for the week. I count the foam, the candles, the hurricanes. If we need two hundred hurricane vases for two back-to-back weddings, every single one has to be cleaned, checked, and ready before Tuesday morning.

And everything gets color coded.

Green tape means one event. Yellow tape means another. Every box, every vessel, every item that leaves this studio is labeled so my team never has to ask — they just read. It sounds simple. It’s the difference between a setup that runs smoothly and one that doesn’t.

I also print everything out on Monday. The proposal, the production timeline, the flower recipe cards, the diagrams — all of it goes into a binder so we can work without looking at a screen. If something is broken, missing, or needs to be replaced, I find out Monday. That gives us Tuesday to fix it before the flowers even arrive.

This is the work that keeps the beautiful work from falling apart.

It happens alone, it happens quietly, and most people never know it existed.

Dream Flowers — every event color coded, every stem accounted for, every detail handled before you ever see the flowers.
