Speaker spotlight: Prof. Dr. Michael Krödel, from Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences joins our flagship Summit this November.
His session, The Regulatory Landscape for Smart Buildings, covers recent legislation including the EPBD and Germany's GModG (Gebaudemodernisierungsgesetz), and what it means for building automation and EnOcean technology (not legal advice, but a grounded read on where the rules are heading).
Summit Frankfurt runs November 4 and 5, theme: Shaping the Future of Ambient IoT Together.
Registration is free for members, building professionals, owners, and investors. https://www.enocean.com/en/enocean-alliance-summit/

🇯🇵 Inaba Denkisangyo showed us two products built around EnOcean. Signal Watcher reads the light from indicator lamps like stack lights and sends the status wirelessly, powered by its own solar panel. I/O Hopper supports contact input, contact output, and EnOcean relay functionality.

EnOcean Alliance member Eltako just wrapped a roadshow across Vorarlberg and Tirol, Austria, bringing live smart home demos straight to installers. One booth panel paired Matter and EnOcean under "best of both worlds," a nice snapshot of interoperability in action. More from Eltako at https://www.eltako.com

University of La Laguna needed real-time radon and CO2 monitoring across 14 campus buildings, without tearing into finished spaces or running new cable. Radon is a radioactive gas linked to lung cancer risk when it builds up indoors, so continuous monitoring matters. The deployment: 140 self-powered EnOcean sensors across 70 areas, talking to existing WiFi access points enabled as IoT gateways, installed in about 30 minutes per area over a 4-week rollout.

🇯🇵 Nifco built the heatstroke prevention system now running across Yokosuka's 70 municipal schools, but visualising WBGT readings is just the starting point. The next step: linking the system to air conditioning, similar to building automation, powered by EnOcean's energy-harvesting technology.

🇯🇵 Yokosuka City has introduced a heatstroke prevention system across all 70 municipal schools, replacing manual WBGT readings with real-time monitoring teachers and staff can see and share instantly. At Tsurukubo Elementary School, that live reading now guides whether PE goes ahead outdoors, indoors, or in the gymnasium, and students are learning to read the numbers themselves.

🇯🇵 Creative Next Design has built a cloud-connected solution using EnOcean receivers to collect data from multi-sensors: temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and even automated window control. It's already in use by farmers, including tomato growers in the Obihiro region.
