By the RoadSide Firewood & flowers from our family to yours — local, reliable, and grown by the roadside. By the Roadside started with firewood and a pickup truck in 2019.

Since then, we’ve kept homes warm, grown roots, and blossomed into a USDA-certified flower farm in 2025. We’re a family-owned, community-driven business serving Richmond and the surrounding counties — offering everything from firewood bundles to flower bouquets, grown and gathered with care. Stop by. Help us bring Chris home ❤️

A few years ago, Chris came into our lives during a time when he was homeless here in Richmond. We gave him a job, made sure he had a ride back and forth to work, and watched him work hard, save his money and eventually get a place of his own.

He didn’t ask us to save him he just needed someone to give him a real opportunity, and he took it from there.

Chris is currently in Texas and has to start over again to make his way back home. We have already offered him a full-time position with By the Roadside Premium Firewood, and once he returns, we will provide his transportation to and from work.

Now we’re asking our community to help us with the next step: getting Chris back to Richmond and helping him secure stable housing.

The money raised will be used directly toward his approved relocation, apartment application fees, security deposit, first month’s rent, utility setup and basic household necessities.

If you can contribute anything at all, we would be extremely grateful. If you can’t donate, please share this post and link. A share might reach the exact person who can help with transportation, housing, furniture, work clothes or another need.

We watched Chris rebuild his life once. We know he can do it again he just needs the opportunity to get started.

🎉 Today we’re celebrating another very special birthday here at By the Roadside!

Our girl Sabrina turns 12 today! 🥳❤️

If you’ve been following us for a while, you already know that By the Roadside has always been more than firewood. It’s a family business which means our kids have grown up right alongside it.

They’ve watched the late nights, the early mornings, the wood piles grow and disappear, the phones ring nonstop when the cold weather hits, and all the crazy that comes with building something from the ground up. 😂

And Sabrina has been right there through it all.

Today, though, the firewood can share the spotlight because our girl officially gets the whole day. ❤️

It’s hard to believe she’s already 12 years old. We are incredibly proud of the funny, beautiful, strong-willed young lady she is becoming, and we feel pretty lucky that so many of you have watched our family and our business grow over the years.

So if you see this today, help the By the Roadside family wish Sabrina a VERY HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY! 🎂🎈🥳
