About us page:
Neil Ambrose rekindled (pun intended) his passion for wood working after dedicating himself to his community and country for over 3 decades. With 25 years of Law Enforcement service and retiring from the military, Neil and his wife, Correna decided to lay down roots in Lee County where they built their dream home. Growing up surrounded by construction, Neil learned the art of wood working by building home additions. Attention to detail has been a reoccurring theme throughout his career where he grew to love the fine details of wood working. Neil had been making wooden flags for friends and building furniture for his home. Recognizing his talent, Correna and their family began encouraging Neil to share his gifts with other people. Neil built his work shop by hand on the family property which is fitting for him. Guided by his Faith, Family and closest Friends, Neil decided to take the leap of faith and opened White Hill Wood Works. When you become a customer of Neil’s, you leave with a one-of-a-kind piece and gain a best friend. He is enthusiastic about every piece of wood that comes into his shop knowing that it will leave curated exactly to his customer’s request. As his business grows, so will his excitement about different stain colors, new techniques and the value of every wood grain the tree has to offer. Turning your ideas into works of art is what Neil excels at. He offers great insight and is excited for every opportunity to create something personalized for his customer. Neil’s passion for creating projects makes it easy to explain what you are looking for as he brings it to life. As you walk into Neil’s shop, you will see the foundation of his business in action. Wood planks and pieces fill every corner, his brother-in-law Jaris will make an appearance requesting Mountain Dew and a hug and the dogs will let you know they are hard workers too
