her to pursue formal training in interior design and a career change. Her background in accounting and finance ensures meticulous attention to detail on every project undertaken by RJOHNSTONINTERIORS. Collaborating with architects, contractors, craftspeople and workrooms, Rebecca is well versed in the management of every aspect of a project from original concept to completion. Thrilled to be asked to complete the remaining two guest rooms in this home that we did a major gut remodel on! This guest suite is going to be so lovely! Had a great design review looking at options that ranged from high end hotel suite to cozy stay-cation vibes.

We spend alot of time crafting our designs and 3D renderings are a key tool we use to bring our ideas to life for clients as we work through the process!

Bringing ideas to life for our clients through 3D modeling and renderings! We work with all our clients to build trust and find the best way for them to make selections and feel confident and excited about their project. This Japanese zen inspired formal living room is all about flexibility for hosting parties and events. Its the first room as you enter this sophisticated home and sets the vibe!

Final design review for a kitchen project! A little classic and traditional with great storage and display.

Which would you choose? Cream and dark wood or cream and green?! Frankly, we love them both.

The drama of these two rooms combined is likely one of our favorite designs yet. We love color and when this client went all in on our idea to paint it all out this deep rich blue, our hearts swelled (perhaps even three sizes that day!). It was such a great exploration of color, pattern, material and texture. Its a gorgeous room to spend time in now.

What does your homes' entry do for you? We love a defined entry in a home. Its a place to reset when you get home, a place to try to remember to leave your keys, and its the first expression of your home to your guests.

We love that you open the front door straight into this beautiful vignette. It's very welcoming and sets the tone for the rest of the home.

Happy National Sibling Day!!

We'd hide the nepotism around here if we could, but the same last name, similar wit, and the banter kinda of gives it away....

All jokes aside, we make a pretty solid team. 'R' is an industry leader and expert, Ry-J is incredibly thorough, detailed, and calm (which trust us we need around here!), and me... well, I'm just the middle kid who has degrees and credentials but still gets picked on. Whatever guys...

Promised you some before and afters, so here they are! It's amazing how much larger and inviting the house feels now. We love us some small intimate rooms, sure, but not at the cost of a functional home.

We're spilling the tea.... on ourselves.

Our client was a first-time homeowner with big ambitions and smart enough to know she needed to call in professionals to help her achieve it. This is a small home, yet I look at the before and after photos of this space and marvel at how removing walls so amplified the feel of space in this home.

The real hidden trick -- its with doors. There was a budget, and to create a kitchen and living space of this size we had to get creative. We saved on the boxes, spiffed them up with the semi-custom doors and then splurged on tile and lighting. The contractor likely didn't thank us for this one, but the owner most certainly did! (no shade to Ikea or Semihandmade - they'd just have liked a cabinet shop to deal with this one 🤣)

We love how this kitchen and living space came out. Its completely transformed this home and we know she's excited and proud to have people over now!

Buying your first home is one thing, making it your own is a big deal. We loved being apart of this journey for her!

Feels like a sit around the kitchen and enjoy the quiet kind of day to us.

Kitchens are one of our favorite spaces to design - its likely the combo of technical and creative, but also, we love to cook ourselves. I don't think theres a kitchen we've designed that we haven't imagined ourselves in cooking up a big meal. Our love for cooking means we don't just make pretty rooms, but ones that function beautifully. Where things are intuitive and the flow is natural.

Also - fresh flowers should be an always thing. A total score on TJ flowers and Ali's love for arranging them.
