Here's another wonderful weathervane we recently completed. We loved the elements of whimsy our customer requested for their design. And they took advantage of our seasonal SPECIAL, which runs through January.

Our Fat and Happy Alligator Weathervane was first commissioned by a family who were relocating to a home on the beautiful waterways around Hilton Head Island, SC. We loved our customer’s whimsical approach to the fun and fauna of their chosen locale and decided to emphasize this sense of whimsy by...

From the National Weather Forecast Center:

It's been 17 days since San Francisco recorded any rain, and that dry streak will probably extend into the mid-20s.

How unusual is that? Well, it turns out that a long dry spell during the rainy season is actually quite common. Since 1849, there have been 54 instances of a dry spell lasting 24 days or more between November and March. In other words, there's a 31% (54/176) chance of experiencing a dry spell of this length during any given winter. The longest such streak was 60 days, from November 17, 1876, to January 15, 1877.

We don’t expect to come close to that record, as it appears a pattern change is finally on the horizon. Increasingly, ensemble members agree that the ridge will break down, leading to a more active zonal pattern that will bring the jet stream and chances for rain back to the Bay Area.

About 40 to 50 ECMWF ensemble members predict some rain in the Bay Area next week, with a slight chance of heavier rain the following weekend. We will wait and see, but our official forecast now includes a good probability of precipitation starting on the 15th. 15th.
