Making these vintage whimsy bags is an obsession right now. This is the fun part and takes me a bit of time to get the composition just the way I want it. I choose the quilt piece or the embroidered piece and let that guide all the other bits I choose. I really like the purple yellow combination.
I like to keep at least three at the antique store so I need to finish this one this week!

Good morning everyone! It's going to be a scorcher today, so I'll be inside the shop doing some much needed rearranging and cleaning.
Feel free to come on by and pick up something pretty for yourself or for a gift. My wall at Alvin’s Uptown Crafts, collectibles & Antiques is 20% off for Christmas in July sales and I'll honor that here too, including Tom's beautiful wood turned bowls. Tom's been busy making more snowmen for the holidays, but these are cute enough to just leave out all year round. Some of the hats on the large snowmen have some shiny bands this year, and Clint Eastwood has made a return too.
We're trying hard to keep the prices the same: $10 for the small and $15 for the large if you buy directly from us. Those that go to antique store will be slightly higher, probably $12 and $18 to cover commission I pay.
These are ready if anyone wants to get a jump on them!

Here's the other tote that I took to Alvin’s Uptown Crafts, collectibles & Antiques today. One sold today so there's only this one and the pink flower one at this time. Get them while you can and my Christmas in July 20% discount is still in effect!
This tote features those 80s-90s blue and burgundy colors with a pretty coordinating blue inside. This one is also made using the heavy interfacing so will also stand on it's own.

Heads up for everyone that enjoyed visiting my twice a year markets--we're skipping this fall. There wasn't enough interest from my past vendors and I just don't have time to search for more. I'd planned on holding it November 7th. Depending on whether or not I'm able to get a bit more space at the antique store, I may possibly open the shop that day for a scaled down open house. You'll see an announcement here if that happens.
I have such fun doing those but maybe it's run it's course or folks just didn't do well enough to want to come back.
In the meantime I'll concentrate on my tote bags and my watercolor. Y'all stay cool out there this week in those triple digit temps.
