This residence embraces a beauty that is tranquil, simple, and honest.

At the heart of it all, the kitchen anchors a space meant for gathering. Everything was selected for a calm, and tactical feel. The dark cabinetry, porcelain countertops, and sculptural lighting drawing out the quiet craftsmanship in every corner.

Rooted in a Monozukuri sensibility, the Japanese art of making with intention, this New Mexico home reinterprets a craftsman approach for the desert.

Our project Wabi Sabi is designed for people who love to cook, to gather, and to stay a little longer.

Dark-stained cabinetry with cathedral grain, limewash walls that soften the light, handcrafted millwork, and artisan-made furnishings all contribute to a residence that is refined, yet effortlessly lived-in.

A hint of blue changes everything.

What began as a vacation retreat for a Texas couple evolved into the luxuriously livable full-time home they had long envisioned.

We shaped the remodel around calm, modern environments that support their active lifestyle — asking just one question to uncover their color direction: "If we were to go through your closet, what would we find?"

Neutrals. And a lot of blues.

From there, every detail fell into place — a warm, creamy plaster, custom wood accents, bespoke crackled-glass hurricanes on the chandelier, and those quiet touches of blue woven throughout. The result is a home that feels like Santa Fe, but lighter, softer, and entirely their own.

In this behind-the-scenes look, we step inside the Albuquerque workshop of Ernest Thompson Furniture.

Rooted in the Spanish Colonial and Southwest design heritage of New Mexico, Ernest Thompson has spent decades preserving and evolving the woodworking techniques that define this region.

For years, Earnest Thomson Furniture has collaborated with Chandler Prewitt Design to create bespoke furnishings and custom ornamental pieces, bringing an unparalleled level of craftsmanship and structural innovation to our interiors.
