We have beautiful Dentalium shells for sale! I got curious about what kind of creature they come from, didn’t realize each tusk-like shell contained a whole little being. Their feet stick out the bottom and scuffle around the ocean floor! 😍😭From Wikipedia: The mantle of Dentalium species is entirely within the shell. The foot extends from the larger end of the shell, and is used to burrow through the substrate. They position their head down in the substrate, with the apical end of the shell (at the rear of the animal’s body) projecting up into the water. These molluscs live on seafloor sediment, feeding on microscopic organisms, detritus and foraminiferans.”

We had a great time in Tucson this year! Found so many beautiful things for the shop and enjoyed the warm sunny weather. We bought beads and rocks and gifts from over two dozen countries!
