Whatever the season you’re decorating for, I say just have a little fun with it! 🍂✨

I’ve been pottering around the cottage, adding a touch of this and that to tuck a bit of cozy into every single corner.

In the front entryway, I’ve pulled together a collection of vintage Victorian boots, an antique suitcase, a hanging witch’s hat, and a few tiny little pumpkins.

There’s even a little crow perched near some vintage books and dried eucalyptus wrangling down from an old window frame.

Leading into the dining room, I’ve hung a trio of favorite hats right on the wall to greet you as you walk in.

On the sideboard, I have an old ice cream bucket filled with autumn leaves, and a rustic crate loaded with antique books.

I’ve layered it all up with mirrors, frames, and fall foliage cascading down.

Just to the left, perched on a little hat stand, sits a darling fall hat.. and dangling right out of the metal bucket are some rolled-up, tea-stained small aprons (I believe they’re only $1.97 at Walmart, and I love them so much I’m even planning to tuck them into my Christmas tree later!).

Moving into the living room, my absolute favorite ruffled blanket is cascading from the couch next to an antique basket of foliage.

Tucked behind, there’s a sweet candelabra on a plant stand, resting next to that massive, oversized dresser I found for free and painted white. I’ve even got a few faux leaves peeking right out of the dresser drawer, finished off with another little crow and a few darling pumpkins.

A little Christmas magic tucked into every corner ✨✨✨

A slower peek around my home from yesterday… architectural salvage framing the foyer, a free thrifted bench, my handmade holly berry sign.

And one of my favorite little corners—a Christmas tree beside the mantel, with an old toolbox and a stack of books tucked alongside it, finished with the simplest garland. Sometimes, simple really is best.

Don’t panic... the holiday transition has begun. ✨

I know, I know—it is only mid-October and most normal people are still firmly in pumpkin mode!

I’m definitely not asking anyone to rush out and dress their trees just yet.

But when creating a cozy home is entirely what you do, you have to get the inspiration ball rolling a little bit beyond early.

Right now, the cottage is caught in that lovely, blurred limbo between the seasons. I’m pottering around the rooms trying not to trip 😆shifting my favorite bits..moving final pumpkins out of the sink, fluffing up the winter branches, and layering the greenery to see how it all feels.

Across all my favorite woods and whites, I’ve allowed just a quiet brush of color here and there to wake up the neutrals before the big winter reveal.

Lately, I’ve also been sifting through the pages of Heritage Design Magazine for a bit of home and lifestyle inspiration. It is a proper dream world in there... and if you happen to take a cheeky little peek inside, you just might spot a familiar face hidden in the pages. 😉 🤍

I’ll share a proper look at that very soon, but for now, the slow styling continues. Are you firmly holding onto autumn, or are you secretly craving a little winter cozy right now?

A quiet romantic autumn... ✨

Step inside my favorite cosy cottage spaces where quiet neutrals have my whole heart… though I do love adding a quiet brush of color here and there.

Right now the cottage is filled with soft textures.

Linen, chippy, organic, and subtle… this is what feels truly peaceful to me.

I’ve tucked scattered pumpkins into the old sink, layered weathered wood bowls , and dusted off stacks of antique books.

I enjoy forged branches, chippy vintage salvage, cozy fall hats, and antique clock faces quietly bring each room to life.

It’s a low-pressure reminder that creating a sanctuary is simply about gathering the things that bring your heart peace.

Christmas in the cottage... let’s start planning. ✨

I have boxes pulled out all over the living room floor today, and the cottage is a total beautiful mess.

I’m currently sorting through all my favorite trinkets and keepsake ornaments playing around with my garland and bows trying to decide exactly where everything should go this year.

There’s something so comforting about dusting off the old stacked books, finding the perfect spot on the gallery wall for my angels, and watching the morning light catch the gold and glitter.

I just couldn’t resist lighting the candelabras early to see how it all feels.

To me, the holiday magic is entirely in the planning, the memories, and the slow styling.

Now, I know it’s mid-October, and this is admittedly a little bit beyond early!

I’m definitely not asking anyone to rush out and unfurl their Christmas tree today.

But since my job is to gather all the cozy inspiration and map out ideas for you ahead of time, I have to get the holiday ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Think of this as your low-pressure sneak peek of what’s to come.

Styling your table helps set the tone for any occasion.
Creating a beautiful tablescape is like creating a centrepiece of your home.

We’ve gathered together an amazing group to share some Autumn hinspiration.

This autumn tablescape is a true love letter to my grandparents, woven together on my favorite thrifted table. Atop each plate rests a fresh pear tied with a sweet bow, sitting beautifully on a serviette passed down from my grandfather and lovingly crocheted by my grandmother 60 years ago. Their legacy anchors the entire room, framing a tiny, homemade pear cake and a vintage dough bowl of pumpkins reflecting softly in the stacked mirrors behind us.

I don’t follow trends. I hunt for character.

I’ve always been the sort of girl who collects things slowly, waiting for the right piece to come along at the right price.

A $25 chandelier from Marketplace, a tabletop Deary made for me, old frames and mirrors found for next to nothing, and architectural salvage pieces that other people might walk straight past.

Sometimes it’s a little shop closing down, a forgotten treasure on a clearance shelf, or something someone else doesn’t quite understand the value of.

I’ve learned that creating a home you love is often a waiting game.

You have to be willing to look, imagine, and occasionally bring home something that makes Deary wonder where on earth I’m going to put it! 😂

So much of our home has been made, found, rescued, or given to us for free.

In the dining room, I have layered old frames and mirrors above the sideboard, some with mirrors inside and some without.

Then there’s a simple crate of old books sitting on top, because apparently even my books need a little elevation!

I often get asked about this arrangement, so I thought I’d bring you in for a closer look.
I don’t need everything to be new, and I certainly don’t need everything to be on trend.

I just want a home that feels collected, a little whimsical, and full of character.

Be patient and enjoy hunting.

One little shelf wasn’t enough…

The first time, Deary made me a simple peg shelf, but then I got a little more ambitious!

I asked him if he could make it a bit more elaborate, so he asked me to draw him a sketch and give him some measurements. Then he got to work!

He even made two little corbels to support the shelf, adding that extra touch of old-world charm I love so much.

I wanted it to feel as though we’d stepped back in time, into a little cottage with a story to tell.

And now, one of my favourite things is styling my entryway differently for each season. 🍂
