We’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the Brooms back to the Barnfest! 🧹🍂

For many years, Snyder’s Brooms was a familiar sight at the Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts. After several years away, we’re proud to return, carrying a family tradition forward — from our family to yours.

Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind a legacy you can hold in your hands.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our beloved Grandma, Ann “Haha” Snyder, co-founder of Snyder’s Brooms.

She wasn’t just part of the business—she was its heart. She sewed our brooms, handcrafted our wool dusters, made our braided bundles, painted beautiful flowers on the handles, and took on countless behind-the-scenes tasks that helped shape Snyder’s Brooms into what it is today. Her hands, her talent, and her love are woven into everything we do.

As my grandma—my Haha—she was everything you could hope for and more. From playing Yahtzee and taking me to the beach, to countless laughs, teaching me poker, and bailing me out when I messed up as a teenager—she was always there. She instilled a strong work ethic in me, never hesitating to call me out when I cut corners, and she always spoke the truth, no matter what. But above all, it was her love, her laughter, and her kindness that defined her.

My grandfather, George, and Grandma Ann taught me this craft. Every broom I make carries the lessons they passed down—the patience, the attention to detail, and the pride of creating something built to last. As a company, we carry those same values forward in every piece we create.

Though she is no longer with us in person, her spirit lives on in every broom that leaves our shop. Her legacy and love continues in every stitch, every bundle of broomcorn, and every painted handle.

In Japanese folklore, there is the word Hahakigami—the “broom spirit.” I can’t think of a more fitting way to honor Grandma Haha. From now on, she’ll always be our Hahakigami, watching over Snyder’s Brooms and reminding us to craft each piece with the same care and love she gave. You will be missed but never forgotten!

Today, for the first time, we didn’t just make the broom… we jumped our own. 🧹❤️

“Jumping the broom” has long symbolized sweeping away the past and stepping together into a new beginning — and after years of crafting brooms for other couples, it was surreal to finally share that moment ourselves.

Here’s to love, tradition, new beginnings, and building a beautiful future together — for Laura & Matt, and for Snyder’s Brooms. The next chapter starts now. ✨
