Back to school. Back to work in the studio. And this week, we said goodbye to Dolly. 💔

Despite the heaviness that life throws our way, the show must go on.

This week my creative process was fueled by 🎶 Dolly’s greatest hits 🎶 and I’d like to think she inspired this playful mix of fabrics that will become furnishings for a beloved client.

In the studio, doing my creative work is where I thrive. Pulling together fabrics for an interesting palette. Vibrant colors, playful pattern, varying scale, layers of texture, watching a concept come to life, and then having a client say, “Yes. That’s it.”

I’ll never take that for granted.

One of the best parts of my job is watching each thoughtfully considered design decision move from concept to actualization in the field. Each project is different, each and every decision is thoughtfully considered, always client centered. Assemble the dream team as early as possible and enjoy the process. In the home stretch of my Fine Feather House renovation in Saugatuck and every day is like Christmas morning! All of the sublime details are coming together and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome. You won’t want to miss the final photos of this one. The before and afters are going to tell a beautiful story. What a gift to do this work each day for clients that I cherish. Each project is different and each one is truly my hearts work. A well designed home office can help bring order to the joyful chaos that is summer.

This thoughtfully designed space offers privacy and the ability to stay connected to kiddos with divided light glass doors and transom glass. It also serves the purpose of allowing natural light to filter into the neighboring hall and living room.
