This past weekend, with the help of my dad, a mini skid, and friends with heavy machinery, we rescued 7 large black walnut and 2 honey locust trees from a property in Maple Grove that is doomed for development.
The nice couple made the difficult decision to let the farm go after generations in the family and were thoughtful enough to make the beautiful trees available.
Also, thanks to Jon and Boog for hosting my giant pile of trees on their property and eventually milling and drying them for me.
If anyone is in need of walnut slabs in 1 to 2 years, let me know. I may have an abundance the way this looks.
