t’s specific need and lifestyle, I launched Tennyson Studio after moving from North Carolina to Savannah, Georgia in 2015 with my husband Jared. After the addition of our fur baby Daisy in 2016 and the birth of our daughter Collins Grace in 2019, function and comfort have become the cornerstone of my designs for my growing and active family. I believe every space should be beautiful, but also a comfortable haven for not only you, but for your family to enjoy worry free, and able to withstand whatever each new day brings. I currently offer services in 3D renders, virtual consultations, design inspiration for clients near and far, and staging for television and photo shoots. Proof of life— summer ☀️

This summer I’ve been trying to slow down my work load. With Collins almost 6 and Jared’s heavy travel schedule usually lining up during the summer months, I’ve been trying so hard to live more presently. Collins has been in so many fun camps (clearly I’m not the golf mom I need to be… yet), we’ve gotten to travel with Jared back to some of our favorite game locations (we love you Boston, and your oysters 🦪), and we’re still getting settled in our new home, all while I’ve been working on details of some projects that have already been lined up. So yes, I’m still here. Just living more presently in these summer days that will soon be gone.

Australian Inspiration 🇦🇺

Jared and I had the opportunity to travel to Australia last month and I walked away with so much inspiration. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again—All five senses matter. Unfortunately, I feel design stereotypically leans so much into the visual when there’s so much more. How does a space smell? How does the experience taste (the Australians know how to roast coffee and their cultural diversity in food is expansive)? How does the room make me feel, in tactile and emotions (not pictured, me tearing up during the Sydney Opera House tour)? What sounds am I experiencing?

What a cool world we live in. Beyond thankful for the time spent in such a beautiful place.

Whew… what a week, Savannah. Many residents are still without power, and some are left with incredible damage and destruction to their homes. The news of our friends up in western North Carolina, Augusta, Tennessee and more just absolutely breaks my heart. Our family is thankful to be safe… but we are down a car, Monday we will be unexpectedly replacing our roof, and a power line and tree are still laying in front of our home. All a headache, but all things that we are blessed to be able to handle.

In the midst of such a heavy week, I am so beyond grateful for my job. Home is more than pretty paint colors. It’s a place to rest and relax when life hits hard, and when something happens to that haven, it’s devastating. If I can continue to provide joy to my clients despite such a rough week, it is truly an honor.

I love a powder bath. It’s like the jewel box of the house when done right. In a world where the world craves open concept, power baths are a great opportunity to absolutely DRENCH a space in color and pattern, and make it an almost immersive experience. A fun wallpaper, fun lamp shades, an antique mirror, a bold tile, and an elegant candle can make a tiny space feel that much more luxurious.
