Griz Originals Love giving reclaimed wood a 2nd chance, constructing original, functional and beautiful creations. The results however are by and far worth the extra labor.

I credit my Pop, my grandpa, and the good Lord for any skills that I may have. I can remember, my grandpa and dad creating, fixing, building, re-building, inventing, re-inventing things. I remember my dad building my mom furniture from wooden pallets that he had saved/collected from where he worked. I guess he was a pioneer in ‘pallet art’ and didn’t even know it! In 2017 I stumbled across a wood

en chair on Pinterest I thought would be fun to try and build. After collecting scrap wood from the neighbor's back yard (yes, I had their permission); I built my interpretation of that chair. It wasn't long after this that this hobby kind of exploded into what it is today. I truly love and appreciate the challenge and rewards that re-claimed wood provides. I have learned that re-claimed lumber is fickle material and I am humbled by it's stubbornness. There is a fair amount of work involved in cleaning and prepping the wood, before I can even begin a project. Thanks for taking the time in stopping by and taking a look at my page. Always bittersweet to finish a project. However, I adore how this turned out. And I know the owner will be over the moon about it. I kept the original hardware, except the door pulls, which are an upgrade from the bolts that were there when I got started. Overall I'm pleased. How about y'all? Onto the next progie. What you got? Well here we are. At the end of another project. What do y'all think? It's hard to see the color of the paint from the pictures. It's amazing with the softness of the natural oak and Odie's Oil.

Things are getting sorta done. Moved it to the basement because it's easier to control the temperature for applying the finish.
In case you're interested; I'm using in Wellington green. The stuff clings like no other and is so easy to apply. And there are so many colors to choose from! For the drawers I'm using my favorite trusty .
I apologize for the poor lighting, which doesn't do the colors justice. We will all just have to wait to see it in sunlight. 😊 What do you all think I should do for hardware? 🤔 Stick around and see the finished product. Thanks for checking in on me!
