In the heart of Seagrove, North Carolina is a rustic pottery studio where art and nature become one. The beauty of the countryside – its rich colors, textures and shapes – are captured into clay for a lifetime. Scott and Bobbie create each piece paying particular attention to details. They begin by individually handcrafting each piece using a speckled brown or white stoneware cl

ay. Their glazes are made using the highest quality of non-toxic and lead-free ingredients. The pottery is fired to a very high temperature ensuring it will be exceptionally durable for daily use. Each finished piece is dishwasher, microware and oven safe. Meet the Artisans
Most people only wish they could follow their dreams, but potters Scott and Bobbie Thomas have made it a reality. Together they combine their talents to create a unique variety of functional and decorative stoneware pottery. By working in tandem they offer a level of skill resulting in pieces that are warm and emanate the natural beauty of their surroundings. Scott and Bobbie’s artistic interests complement each others’ style. Scott enjoys turning on the potter’s wheel. His large turned platters, bowls, and pitchers have a traditional shape while his vases have a much more decorative appeal. Once his pieces are made, Bobbie adds the finishing touches, which includes glazing and firing. Bobbie enjoys turning smaller items, but her passion lies with hand-building. Using flat pieces of clay she creates a variety of trays and platters. She embellishes her work by hand-painting, adding sculpted flowers or using handmade clay stamps creating an original piece of art. Customers love Bobbie’s whimsical tri-footed serving pieces. Her lamps, planters and custom tiled mirrors make a great addition to any home or patio décor.

Our event is rain or shin. Look for these signs this Saturday to follow the event trail to six pottery shops hosting a Summertime Tea - Tea with Seagrove Potters, August 8, 10-5. Iced tea is what we’re serving at next Saturday’s event August 9th, 10-5. Sample freshly baked treats from our partner Cafe’. Owner, Tiffany welcomes you to stop by while you are out and about. The cafe’ is located here in Seagrove at the stop light at 126 S. Broad St. They offer coffee + tea, specialty beverages, house-made pastries, and ready-made sandwiches, salads, and sides.

If you love frothy milk in your coffee or tea, this little milk pitcher might be just right for you. I 🩶love a London Fog made with a strong brew of Earl Grey tea, topped with frothy milk. This is a special treat, especially on a rainy afternoon. The great advantage of pottery is it has thermal qualities. Pre-heating your cup with hot water will keep your beverage hotter much longer. This is a great tip, especially if you have to commute to work.
