Last week when my sister was visiting, we went to a sunflower farm! We had fun running through the maze with the kids and afterwards we picked flowers to bring home. Then I had fun arranging them.
Both the kids wanted to pick their own bouquets. So cute. 🥰

Had so much fun creating this table with the help from my sis! She is visiting feom out of town.
Earlier in the week we went to the town where part of Practical Magic was filmed! I'll share in stories. Since Practical Magic 2 was filmed in London, I guess we will have to plan a sister trip there!
For this table I was thinking of Sally's botanical shop and the aunt's greenhouse.

🌿There are some things I know for certain: always throw spilt salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck, and fall in love whenever you can.🧂

Small Porch Fall Decor. Until real pumpkins are ready, I have these cute faux ones.
Also, it's pretty warm today & that isn't good for real pumpkins' longevity 😄
This week we have a couple days trips planned to soak up the last bits of summer.

Setting the scene for an autumn gathering. The dahlia centerpiece is made from dahlias my hubby bought me and the larger ones came from my neighbor's garden. She sets them in a little box for anyone to take.
The little glass, purple pumpkin is one new thing I bought this season from Dollar Spot.

Confession time- I don't really like fall beverages 😬
No PSL for me, I kinda like apple cider but only cold. Can we still be friends despite my beverage choices 😄?

I usually just have basic coffee or tea, but there is one drink that reminds me of fall & winter as a kid & that is Mexican hot chocolate.

Growing up, there was always either a box of Ibarra brand or Abuelita chocolate in the cupboard. And my grandma had the wooden whisk called a molinillo, to to stir the drink over the stove.

I made a homemade version and I served it here with a co**ha (a type of Mexican sweet bread) and a yummy new-to-me cinnamon croissant from Costco. I'll share recipe in pinned comment.

Trying out some purple in my fall decor. After making my dried lavender wreath, I figured I would add in more purple. Purple mums mix well with the "traditional" fall colors.
During a trip to Michaels Stores my kids and I found cute faux pumpkins, wicker pumpkins & the door mat.
Do you pick a color scheme or themw when you decorate?

💜DIY dried lavender wreath💜 Our lavender plants are now big enough that they yield a ton of flowers.
I have always wanted to make a wreath with the dried flowers & was finally able to! I added a purple velvet ribbon that I have been hanging onto. I think it adds a nice nod to the upcoming fall season. Once fall comes, I might add a brown ribbon; something earthy.

Second week of August is fast approaching. I have a painting project I really want to get to and a couple days trips before the kids go back to school🤞 What are your plans for the last of the summer days?

2.Make a crostata, cobbler, or crumble with your fresh berries
3.Take a swim i
4. Pick the last of the summer flowers
5. Have a picnic, even if its at home
