Dutch Baby 🥞
One of my go too, easy to make breakfasts. You can dress it up or down in any way and sure to be a family favorite!
Ingredients
* 4 tbsp butter, divided
* ½ cup whole milk
* ½ cup all-purpose flour
* 4 large eggs
* 1 tbsp cane sugar
* 1 tsp vanilla
* ¼ tsp salt
* A healthy dash of cinnamon
* Berries of choice, optional
* Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions
1. Place a cast-iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 450°F.
2. Add 2 tbsp butter to the skillet and let it melt while you make the batter.
3. Melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter.
4. Add the melted butter, milk, flour, eggs, cane sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon to a blender. Blend until completely smooth—don’t skip the blending!
5. Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Swirl the melted butter around so the bottom of the skillet is evenly coated.
6. If adding berries: Toss them directly into the melted butter in the skillet, then pour the batter over the top. Make sure the butter is nicely dispersed around the pan.
7. Return the skillet to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the Dutch baby is beautifully puffed and golden brown. Try not to open the oven while it bakes so you don’t lose that gorgeous puff!
8. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, or both. 🤍
Best served straight from the oven while it’s big, fluffy, and warm!
