What does it mean to feed the soil that feeds you?

Biodynamic gardening looks at the system as a whole, with soil, plants, animals and people all playing a part. The focus is on building fertility from within, using compost, plant-based preparations and other practices that support healthy soil and plants.

On Saturday, August 29, we’re heading to@3springscommunityfarm for an afternoon with Farmer Willow to see these practices at work and get hands-on making biodynamic ferments, sprays and compost preparations.

Our first Gather workshop out on the farm, and we’re excited about this one.

Saturday, August 29, 3:30–6:30 pm
Three Springs Community Farm, Sebastopol (near Freestone)

There’s still plenty of August left and we have some really fun workshops coming up!

Take your crochet skills to the next level, learn to bake sourdough with locally grown heirloom grains, make your own kokedama, or spend an afternoon exploring the wonderful world of natural dyes.

Our Preserve the Season: Pickling & Fermenting workshop is already sold out (thank you!), and we’re especially excited for our first off-site workshop at where we’ll be learning about biodynamic gardening right on the farm.

Lots of opportunities to try something new, make something with your hands, and spend some time learning alongside other curious people.

Swipe through to see what’s coming up and register at the link in our bio. 🌿

We can’t get over the beautiful bread Daniel of makes with locally grown and milled heirloom wheat from

One of our favorite things about Gather is getting to know and work with the farmers, makers, and artisans doing incredible work right here in our community—and then getting them into the classroom to share what they know.

Next Saturday, August 22, Daniel is teaching us how to incorporate whole grains into our sourdough baking. We’ll dig into what makes freshly milled and heirloom grains different, how they behave in a loaf, and how to get great results at home.

If you’ve got the sourdough basics down and are ready to up your bread game, come spend Saturday baking with us.

We’re still feeling the love from the Gravenstein Apple Fair🍎

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to watch our canning safety demo, say hello, slice apples with us, and sample Jen’s delicious apple pie filling! We loved meeting so many new faces and catching up with familiar ones throughout the weekend.

What a joy to come together and celebrate the Gravenstein—and the incredible bounty, growers, makers, and community that make this corner of Sonoma County so special.

We’re grateful to be part of it!

Have you heard of reverse appliqué?

This beautiful textile technique starts by layering two fabrics together. Then, once your design is stitched, the top layer is carefully cut away to reveal the color and texture beneath.

The result? One-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the beauty of cloth while giving new life to old textiles.

It's one of our favorite techniques for upcycling, and a reminder that creativity often begins with something you already have.

If you'd like to learn reverse appliqué yourself, join us for our upcoming Reverse Appliqué: Upcycled Coasters workshop. You'll learn the fundamentals of the technique while creating a set of beautiful coasters to take home.
