Hello Weekend!
I stayed up late working on dialing this in.

Textured tooled leather look Sedona Cathedral Rock magnet. Pictures aren't great as there wasn't much light out yet but you know, that impatience thing of mine. In person they are a little lighter in tonal quality.

Was able to cut a few more blanks last night too but think they came out well! Had some .25” oak hanging about wanting to be used so created an outline then cut that out prior to printing directly on the blank. Very little post cleanup needed which is awesome.

Working on a AZ “dry heat” one now. Think saguaros (which don’t grow in Sedona as it’s too cold) desert mesas, vulture and a western skeleton and you get the idea.

Have so many other ideas floating around in the old noggin combining the texture AND shape.

Also will be working on more crystal and dream catcher magnets and crystal ornaments to deliver next week….

But it’s 6am so time to get to work!

ALSO something cooking with Jen AntiLace Crafts sooo excited to see where it leads.

Well it’s a bit toasty already (that 95 real feel is pretty damn accurate) so we are making it a short mini adventure. It’s close enough to keep us on our gas budget. Is it ever gonna come back down? Damn ridiculous the price now. 🤬🥴

Will get him moving earlier next time!

Just heard Sedona is gonna be up to 99 today yippee 🥵🙈

Time to head back down the mountain to Sedona.

Jerome is always a cool little adventure if you come early and beat the crowds and heat it’s much more enjoyable (for me anyway)

Will add link to historical town info when home.

Its copper mining heyday is quite interesting.

YAY it's Friday! The brother is a bit stir crazy this morning so I'm shifting things around and we will head out in just a bit for a ride maybe up to Jerome before it gets too dang hot (supposed to be mid to upper 90's today)

Need to print up some PLA boxes as apparently the new printer prints great on that surface.

BUT I also need to absolutely focus on things that I need to deliver next week to the gallery and museum gift shop lol....wish me luck....squirrel ...rabbit hole...distractions...FOCUS

Here's a image I will try some depth printing to for magnets. Wanted it to look like old tooled leather. I will print on wood and cut the wood to the shape of the image...in my head it looks great.
hahaha

What's on your agenda today?

Box for the brother. I never sell anything not mine to sell (you know IP and c@pywright stuff) , this is obviously a gift and is practice for the new shop toy….but this came out pretty cute if I do say so myself. Will paint the box sides black tomorrow

The top and bottom were my mistake as I didn’t make the image big enough.

Image created w ChatGPT and photo of the bro from last years softball with the uniform changed to the SF team.

His response? “Oh my god!, that’s me! In a Gi@nts uniform!”

Will be prepping more boxes these next few days. Several coats of primer and sanding and will still most likely have slight texture to the lid but think they will work.

Quick question! Who else hears the words “number one fan” and immediately thinks of Kathy Bates as Annie Wilks?!? 🤔 I can’t be the only one you dirty birdies!

Welcome to Friday EVE!
so as most who have been around for a little bit know that I got a new shop toy/tool and am learning how to use it and have been playing around a bit. Here are a couple practice boxes, these aren't great but I didn't have primer and was being impatient. I KNOW...SHOCKING! right?!

The primer will help to cover the grain a bit and give a smoother print surface to get better end result. I need to also figure out if I will be staining or painting the box sides and insides, but am thinking it will vary based on the image. Hope to try one of my photographs on a box today as think that would look good too.

*as always I can't draw so images were created from multiple parts, or purchased for commercial rights*

I did get some primer to try out and got some needed pew pew maintenance completed so this weekends work sessions will be ready to roll. I just texture painted a couple of the square boxes and will paint to look like sand, hopefully it looks as good in person as it does in my head lol....fingers crossed

It's warming back up with expected mid 90's again and I am so grateful for a temp controlled work area! And am a early riser to do outdoor paint stuff before it's too hot!

Hump day! we're half way there my friends.
Gary got the first couple tomatoes off his plants this morning and is excited about that!
We have errands and appointments today but here's another snap of Chance from when I was doing a travel assignment near SF around 2009. He loved adventures, exploring and rides.... the posing for photos not so much lol

Happy Tuesday to everyone. May your drink of choice be JUST right. Today is a busy shop work day as the bro is with the respite guy and I get 8 hours “off “, but of course he wants breakfast first 🙈😛then he’s off for frisbee golf and Panda Express for lunch.

The to do list is kinda long but I did get 2 weeks of the pinterest pins done for the first 2 weeks of June made and scheduled yesterday so yay.

Here's a photo of my gentle giant Chance 🌈 who I had from 3 months to almost 13 years.

He loved going on adventures with me and was such a great pup.

This is San Xavier Del Bac in Tucson, AZ AKA White Dove of the Desert. Photo taken 13 years ago!

Have a great day everyone and don't forget to enjoy it a bit.

June 1st? How is that even possible?!

Wishing everyone a fantastic month filled with all the good things!

Here are a few experiments of the textured printing. Still a learning curve for sure but they are coming out pretty good so far.

These images I purchased with commercial usage rights….that whole can’t draw thing. Except my logo which I designed. The steampunk owl I printed so the background stayed transparent so the cedar wood showed and really like how it came out.
The lines are actually the grain in the wood (the oak is fairly visible) somethings that will be ok some not I just didn’t have time to prime everything first.

Will be spending the next few hours doing the Pinterest posts for the month as someone has been slacking.

Have a good day!
