Big Eyed Fish was created for a Miami art show themed "Pastel Paradise". While creating this piece I sang in my head lyrics from a Dave Matthews song in which he states, "Look at this Big Eyed Fish swimming in the sea...oh...how he dreams to be a bird, swooping, gliding through the breeze..." The song does not have a happy ending for the fish, but the painting reflects the desire to be free.

New trend alert: Color Drenching.

This trend in interior design is a catchy way to talk about taking monochromatic decor to its limits.

A color is selected and used on everything from bedding, to furniture, to lampshades, and of course, the artwork. Variation comes in the form of textures and the use of different hues of the same color.

In a home that’s designed with care, art can make guests feel more welcome, more relaxed, and even more curious. It adds personality, warmth, and that sense of, “you’re invited to stay awhile.”

Wildflowers in a Blue Vase was inspired by the works of artist Suzanna Valadon who I was studying for a separate project. Her delight in simple paintings of flowers in vases became a point of interest to me and I could not help but create something after my exploration through her paintings.
