At some point in our lives, we come to realize that life is short. We walk the life given to us and then we’re gone from this earth. The older we get, the faster it seems to go. James 4:14 says that we are like a mist that only lasts for a little while and then vanishes. This verse in Ecclesiastes reminds us that we will be forgotten by the generations that follow us. That may be true, but we can still leave a legacy for them, even if they don’t know where it came from. We may just be a v***r in time, but we can make our lives matter. What we do now affects the future and it will keep on spiraling forward. How do you think the gospel has been spread for so many generations? People that we never knew or met played an important part in our own salvation. It’s the same for us, too. The ones who follow us may not ever know our names, but how we live and what we instill in our children and grandchildren, will carry on. Let’s make our lives count so future generations can know Jesus. That’s really all that matters.
“No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.”
