ew, so did the business. We started as a wholesale supplier of our candles in the fall of 1996. As our business grew, so did our ideas. So in 1999 we opened our first retail store in beautiful downtown Sequim, Washington. In 2001 we tripled our retail space to accommodate all our loyal customers. In 2002 we opened our second store in historic downtown Bisbee, Arizona. In 2006 we sold the Arizona location. We have worked hand in hand with various perfumers and chemists to unravel the mystery of what makes a burning candle smell heavenly and burn perfect. Finding inspiration in nature, memories, world travels, spas and everyday life, our candle technician has the most unique sense of smell. She can bring different scents together in a way you never dreamed would work. If she wants a particular scent made into a candle fragrance, she is the one to make it happen. The testing that’s involved to create just one new fragrance can take up to a year or longer. All our candles are made in our wax studio on the beautiful and green North Olympic Peninsula Coast. We employ people who are as excited about our product as we are and volunteers who are giddy just to be working around our amazing scents. We take pride in the quality of our candles as well as our great reputation. Our candles are hand poured in batches of 50 so we can devote more attention to detail and quality control. Any candle that doesn’t meet our high standards is retired to our cosmetically challenged shelf, which is the first place our regular customers shop in our Sequim store.
