I don’t usually share personal updates on my design page, but I felt it was important to explain why things have been a little quieter lately. For the past few years, I’ve been traveling regularly to my hometown to help care for my elderly parents. Recently, that support has shifted into something more full-time, and I now spend half of each month living there to care for my almost 91-year-old dad, who has Lewy body dementia.
It’s a lot—coordinating caregivers, supporting my naturally anxious 86-year-old mom, and navigating the daily decisions that come with his care. But the weight is matched by moments that mean everything. When I’m next to him in bed, I show him photos like these: my 8th-grade Confirmation, my wedding day 31 years ago, and what turned out to be his last flight to Vegas. Even though he can’t access these memories anymore, they remind me of the unwavering love he has always shown—and they fuel my desire to stay by his side through this season.
When I’m not with my parents, I’m busy designing my own new home and squeezing in market visits so I can stay inspired and connected to the design world. Keeping my creativity alive matters deeply to me. Design has been my passion because I love creating spaces that feel like a haven—places of harmony, peace, and healing. We all need that kind of space.
So while my “before and after” posts may come a bit more slowly right now, please know that I’m still here, still creating, still finding joy in design… just at a gentler pace.
Thank you for letting me share my heart. 🤍
