P!nk Appreciation - Day # 31 - "When I Get There" - a beautiful tribute to Jim Moore, but also so relatable for anyone navigating the grief that comes with losing a loved one. There have been multiple versions of this piece of artwork. In my circle, this one is dubbed "the hawk photo" and was created specifically as something special for P!nk....and thanks to my sister .edits.bymay I know that P!nk now has a copy of it 🩷

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 29 - "Cuz I Can" - arrogance and boasting of material possessions...I love this song because it's such a walking contradiction to who P!nk actually is. I love that she can fully display her serious side, emotionally, and lyrically...and then, as with this song, just have fun. It's just a banger.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 28 - "Don't Let Me Get Me" - relatable for anyone trying to rise above their own insecurities...anyone who knows what it's like to not fit the "norm". Now...if we could only get P!nk to record the acoustic version from the live shows...

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 27 - "Trustfall" - Happy 3rd birthday to Trustfall: the song that begs us to examine the possibilities of taking a leap of faith, that begs us to find the freedom in just letting go. Life is messy and complicated, but there is strength in accepting the uncertainties and surrendering control sometimes. Once again, P!nk hits us in the vulnerable spot.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 26 - "Funhouse" - perhaps, to me, the song that gave us the biggest glimpse into the struggles P!nk and Carey were facing in their marriage at the time. I love the use of metaphors and I think it's a good reminder that things aren't always what they seem. It highlights the way relationships can suddenly shift into chaos, making something that was once fun seem totally unrecognizable.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 24 - "Eventually" - to me, this song is the reminder that relationships are not always what they appear to be: a reminder that some people will use others for their benefit, without ever showing concern for anything below the surface. It expresses the belief in karma...the belief that those who have betrayed us will see justice for their actions in the end. For me, it's a cue to focus energy away from the negative and, instead, pay attention to the genuine people in my life.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 23 - "Just Give Me A Reason" - Again, I think many people can relate to the feeling of struggling in a relationship, but trying to do everything to save it, despite the flaws and pain. Another great song from the queen of vulnerability.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 22 - "Just Like A Pill" - I love the use of drug/medicinal metaphors to describe a toxic relationship. I don't publicly speak much to my past relationships. What I will say is that I can relate to the way she describes relationships that cause "sickness" rather than healing....as I am sure many people can. I also love that this song is an absolute banger as part of a live show setlist.

P!nk Appreciation - Day # 20 - "We Could Have It All" - to me this song showcases what I love about Pink...her willingness to share her struggles with the world. This song expresses the duality of idealizing that truly perfect love, and meeting the waves of apprehension that go along with it. It recognizes the fear that the desire to have it "all" could actually destroy the very thing that we long to protect. It showcases the true fragility of love and touts the idea that the journey, though imperfect, could be worth the risk.
