Today I finished a project of love, a project for myself, a project to remind me that's it's ok to spoil myself once in a while. 2025 was a challenging year, which included selling my childhood home after unexpectedly losing my Dad in December of 2024. For years, I have focused on taking care of everyone else first. I'm slowly learning to put some priority on myself too. This afghan represents that. After completing the sale of the house, I decided to spoil myself with enough of my favorite beautiful yarn from (an independent yarn dye studio in Maine) to make myself an heirloom afghan. I kept the pattern simple, so that the focus can be on the beauty of the yarn. This quickly became one of my favorite makes that I have ever made. It will always be a reminder of where I have been and a reminder that it is ok to do something nice for myself once in a while also.
