I’ve been MIA for a few weeks.

Our family is recovering from Covid for the 3rd time this month. We have been in survival mode over here.

Since packing up the store it’s been a whirlwind of taking care of whoever is sick, packing up final orders from the store, finishing up some design projects and sorting through all of the inventory that is taking over my garage and basement.

I’ve also done a lot of praying and thinking through what I want the business to look like and I’ve come to the conclusion to take a break for a little while. A break from the hustle and just enjoy my family for a little bit.

Going forward it will look a little different as I pivot from a product based business. I’ll be sharing more details as the weeks come.

For all those asking, closing the store had nothing to do with downtown or the lack of support. In fact, I love downtown and was humbled by the amount of support I had. I love and thankful for the relationships I was able to form with other businesses and clients. I grew so much and learned so much about myself and the business world. I was in a renting situation that I did not feel safe or comfortable with. It was a situation that turned and I decided for the safety of myself, my family and my business that it would be best to move on from that spot.

I trust God in this process (even though it’s been really really hard) and I trust that He will restore and transform my business out of this season. Saying goodbye to something you’ve worked so hard for is never easy.

I appreciate the support, I may be a little bit more quiet for a little while longer but don’t forget about me.

Well guys… change of plans.

After managing to avoid it for the last couple years I have “vid” (Facebook doesn’t like when you type it out). With that being said, I will not be opening the store tomorrow and most likely not Saturday either.

To say this stinks is an understatement. I wanted to be at the store and open those doors for you all one last time, but I also have to put my health and your safety first.

I wanted to see all of you and chat with you and be in my store one last time. I also wanted to be able to clear out some inventory.

I will keep you all updated. I may try to see if someone could be at the store Saturday but we are taking it day by day right now.

I am going to apply 30% off to all items online (all items in store are also online). If you choose local pick-up I will arrange a time for you to pick-up your order sometime next week when I am better. I also have shipping as an option as well.

Nothing about this situation is ideal and it would be a great deal if you guys shopped online to help me clear out some inventory. It would also mean a lot if you shared this with people you know.

Despite everything I am trusting that there has to be so much good on the other side of this. Thank you for your understanding and I appreciate all of you!

‼️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT‼️

It is bittersweet to write you all and let you know that our retail store will be closing effective July 31st,2022. I know this may come as a shock to many of you. I have decided for my safety and mental health to close the store at 31 S. Main Street.

This decision comes with many emotions. I have spent a lot of time praying over this situation and feel at peace with it. Although, these last few days will be hard. I am so extremely grateful for the people I have met and the relationships I have formed in this short amount of time. Grateful is an understatement.

I watched a dream of mine come to life and I got to welcome so many of you into that. For that I will be forever thankful. I took a leap of faith and vulnerability and that is something I do not regret. I have grown and learned so much over these few months.

My plan is to keep the online portion of my store in operation, while still offering pick-up and shipping. I hope to once again offer live sales as well. I will be open Friday and Saturday of this week (29th & 30th). I will also be running a 30% off sale on the entire store to clear out some inventory. Any pick-up orders will have to be picked up by 3pm on the 30th. If you have a design project scheduled with me, those will continue as planned.

I have some ideas in the works that I can’t wait to share with you all. I plan on taking a little time to regroup and spend time with my family and come back refreshed. This is not goodbye just see you later.

This is certainly not the end of Bonfield Collective. This is just a pivot in to a new season. Despite the hard I want to see the good that comes out of situations like these. My hope is I will eventually return to downtown in a space where I feel safe and can be creative. I hope you will continue to support me online and whatever the future brings.

Thank you Chambersburg for being a part of this journey. I love each one of you that I have met and I will miss seeing you in the store.

I have family coming from out of the country that I have not seen in over six years and I’ve been feeling under the weather so I have decided to close this weekend.
