Cherry Pickers We are professional pickers and custom furniture builders. If you can dream it, we can build it! While a man plans his ways, his steps are ordered by the Lord.

For us those steps led us directly to Shipshewana in 2012 to start Cherry Pickers. It is not by accident that we grew from door-to-door scrap gathering to one of the midwest's premier furniture builders. Like everyone else we've modeled our business after what we know. We have seen and experienced that the rubble of past lives can be used to build anew. We take the rejected, discarded, and overlooked materials and salvage them to make fine cabinetry, flooring, and household furnishings. God has given us over 24 years of building experience and an incredibly unique designing ability. Our products are only limited by our collective imaginations. A lot of people are surprised at what they find here. We have a mix of salvaged items, antiques, reclaimed lumber, hand hewn beams, doors, tables, and cabinetry. Whether you're bringing your own ideas, wanting to pick our brains, or are just curious, we'd love to have you stop in for a visit!

A custom kitchen we created in the Dayton/Cincinnati area several years ago. ❤️

This is what happens when you stop settling for what’s “standard” and start building around the way you actually want your home to feel.

This kitchen was designed and Handcrafted it specifically for our clients, with custom details and materials chosen to make the space feel completely their own.

At Cherry Pickers, we love creating kitchens that you simply can’t find in a showroom. If you have a vision for your kitchen – or maybe just know you want something different – we can help bring that vision to life.

Who says reclaimed wood can’t be luxurious?

This beautiful stair railing started life as old hand-hewn barn beams. We resawed the beams into lumber, revealing decades of character hidden inside the wood.

Barn pegs. Worm holes. Natural imperfections. History.

And instead of hiding those imperfections, we embraced them.

Every bit of character was carefully filled and sealed, then finished to an incredibly smooth, pristine surface.

The result? Rustic character with a modern-luxury finish.

That’s one of our favorite things about reclaimed wood. You don’t have to sacrifice refinement, quality, or craftsmanship just because you’re using an old material.

Actually, we think the history is the best part.

You can’t manufacture the character that’s already been earned over decades.

We take wood with a past and give it a place in the future.

That’s what we love to do at Cherry Pickers. 🤎

You’ve probably never seen a bunk bed quite like this!

A few years ago, we had the opportunity to create this one-of-a-kind bunk bed for a client’s lake home — built from authentic barn beams and reclaimed wood, with the character of the original wood preserved while the beams were epoxy-filled and finished to a smooth, beautiful surface.

From the oversized design to the built-in storage and custom details, this isn’t just a bunk bed… it’s a piece that becomes part of the story of the home.

And that’s what we love about custom work. You bring us the idea, the problem, or even just a dream — and we’ll help turn it into something you couldn’t find anywhere else.

With lake season winding down, now is the perfect time to start dreaming about those projects for next year.

What’s one thing you wish you had at your lake house — or one thing you’d love to change?
Tell us in the comments. We’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
