Primary bath presentation prep is officially underway.

And I have to say, this blue palette is a little out of my usual design comfort zone… but she might be winning me over. 💙

We’re pairing classic materials like marble and polished chrome with a botanical wallpaper that adds just enough depth, softness, and personality to keep the space from feeling too predictable.

One of my favorite design decisions in this bathroom is the oversized mirror with ceiling-mounted pendants. Not only does it feel elevated and a little unexpected, but it also helps visually expand the room and trick the eye into thinking the bathroom is larger than it really is.

A little designer sorcery, if you will. ✨

We also built out the wall behind the vanity, which allowed us to create more elbow room inside the shower: one of those behind-the-scenes layout decisions that makes a big difference in how the space actually functions.

This is why I love the design development phase. It’s where every last detail and the client’s day-to-day experience all work together.

There comes a point where you realize joy is not something you earn after exhaustion.
It is something you choose to allow yourself to experience now.

I spent a long time believing life had to be lived carefully. Quietly. Practically.

But the older I get, the more I realize we are allowed to live audaciously. To create beauty. To laugh louder. To romanticize the ordinary moments. To build lives and homes that actually support who we are becoming.

One affirmation I recently heard that stopped me in my tracks:

“I get to choose a joyful life.”

Such a simple sentence… but it felt like permission.

Permission to stop waiting.
Permission to trust yourself.
Permission to take up space in your own story.

Maybe this is your reminder too. 🤍

What is one thing bringing you joy lately?

Most people are expected to make major home decisions from floor plans and imagination alone.

But when you cannot fully visualize the space, every decision starts to feel heavier.

You second guess layouts.
You hesitate on materials.
You worry about making expensive mistakes.
You struggle to see how everything connects.

That is why visualization is such an important part of my design process.

Because clarity changes the way people move through decisions.

These renderings helped transform technical plans into something the client could actually see, feel, and emotionally connect to.

And honestly, that level of clarity is what creates more aligned homes in the first place.

Beautiful spaces don't happen by accident.
They happen through vision, strategy, and intentional design direction.

What’s harder for you during a renovation:
visualizing the final result or making decisions?

Design is felt before it’s fully seen.

Layering materials.
Testing contrast.
Balancing texture, warmth, scale, and feeling.

Because a cohesive home is never created from one beautiful selection alone.
It’s how every detail speaks to each other.

Today’s BTS: reviewing a contractor proposal against the approved design packet.

Not glamorous. Very necessary.

At this stage, the design direction has been developed and mostly approved, so I go through the proposal carefully to make sure it actually reflects what we designed.

I’m checking for missing scope, extra items that don’t apply, selections being supplied separately through my studio, and anything that could create confusion once construction begins.

Because full-service design is not just about creating the vision.

It is about helping protect how that vision gets executed.
