Very sorry.

There will NOT be a Quilts of Valor meeting in Fremont County, WY this month. We are all susceptible to the COVID-19 in some way or another. It is simply not worth the risks at this time. We will decide on next month's meeting at a closer date. Stay well, stay safe. God bless.

What an amazing evening we had last night in Fremont County, Wyoming! About 40 quilts were awarded with many family and friends in attendance. The beautiful ceremonies provided by members from Veteran's Hall and all the veterans' groups (13 Folds of the flag, Presentation of Colors, POW/MIA Table, etc), and then the awarding of Quilts of Valor. We had wonderful home-baked cookies, breads, desserts, and coffee and punch to make the celebration complete.

Thank you to all who made this evening so special! All the quilters and QOV Group Members who helped set up and tear doown, the Boy Scout Troop #44 members who were invaluable in all they did, and I could go on. Thanks to everyone.

But mostly I thank our veterans and service members who came with family and friends to be awarded their Quilts of Valor. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our great Country. You are more appreciated than you know. And no matter what your job was or where you were stationed, whether in country or in a "safe" zone, your work was important. Without the "cog in the wheel" you represented, the machine that keeps this nation safe would not work smoothly and so precisely. You were/are important to our safety and security and we are grateful for your service.

I was honored to award QOVs to two gentlemen, a father/son duo, with Hunting with Heroes tonight. The award ceremony was held on the Central Wyoming College campus at the start of the Rustlers' home volleyball game. It was a fun crowd that was able to witness and join in with its thanks for these two veterans. It was amazing that after each man received his QOV he received hugs from every girl on the Rustlers' team. The men really enjoyed that! They were very appreciative of the support from everyone there. It was an emotional ceremony, but wonderful! -- As they all are!
Thank yous to: Steve Barlow and CWC for allowing us and supporting us in our taking time before the v-ball game to do this; Dan Currah for allowing Quilts of Valor in Wyoming to partner with them in awarding QOVs at their Hunting with Heroes events in Wyoming; and finally and mostly, thank you to our heroes -- servicemen and women and veterans -- who go to work every day, not knowing if they are coming home in one piece or at all, doing the tough jobs that I and many others are not able/willing to do so that all Americans can live in safety and in peace.
