What an amazing evening we had last night in Fremont County, Wyoming! About 40 quilts were awarded with many family and friends in attendance. The beautiful ceremonies provided by members from Veteran's Hall and all the veterans' groups (13 Folds of the flag, Presentation of Colors, POW/MIA Table, etc), and then the awarding of Quilts of Valor. We had wonderful home-baked cookies, breads, desserts, and coffee and punch to make the celebration complete.
Thank you to all who made this evening so special! All the quilters and QOV Group Members who helped set up and tear doown, the Boy Scout Troop #44 members who were invaluable in all they did, and I could go on. Thanks to everyone.
But mostly I thank our veterans and service members who came with family and friends to be awarded their Quilts of Valor. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our great Country. You are more appreciated than you know. And no matter what your job was or where you were stationed, whether in country or in a "safe" zone, your work was important. Without the "cog in the wheel" you represented, the machine that keeps this nation safe would not work smoothly and so precisely. You were/are important to our safety and security and we are grateful for your service.
