Griffin's Glassworks

Griffin's Glassworks Hi, I'm Warren. I enjoy making art with glass including stained glass, winchimes, and crafts. Thanks! Griffin's Glassworks is named after our dachshund Griffin.

He inspired my first stained glass creation. I enjoy working with glass to create art and like to use upcycled glass bottles in my pieces.

Two Louisiana icons wrapped into one vibrant piece! Bringing a little bit of Louisiana flavor to the Black Bayou Festival!

Check out this handmade stained glass crawfish fleur-de-lis suncatcher I just finished up. It’s ready to catch those festival rays and bring some vibrant red Cajun pride to your favorite window.

Stop by my booth next weekend to see how it shines in person!

Am I the only one who secretly loves the way the copper foil looks before it’s soldered?

There is a tiny window of time where a stained glass piece looks like jewelry, and this is it. There’s something so satisfying about these clean, bright lines against the glass. The copper foil stage might just be my favorite part of the process.

When the kiln decides it wants to be the artist!

These upcycled wine bottle spoon rests got a little too close for comfort during their firing and ended up permanently joined at the hip. We're calling it a "kiln kiss" gone wrong—or right, depending on how much spoon-resting space you need!

Since they refuse to separate, this unique, one-of-a-kind piece will be sitting pretty on our discount table at the Black Bayou Festival. Come grab a laugh and a bargain!

My daughter made this gorgeous fused glass seahorse suncatcher for the Black Bayou Festival. I love how she layered the warm amber, red, and yellow glass frit to give the seahorse so much texture, balanced perfectly with that pop of blue. It looks absolutely stunning catching the backyard sunlight! Come see it and support her at the festival.

From discarded to dynamic!

Here is a sneak peek of my brand new Sea Breeze Windchime, made entirely out of upcycled glass pieces that were destined for the trash. I love the way the light catches the different colors and shapes, creating a beautiful dance whenever the wind blows.

This piece—and many others—will be available at the upcoming Black Bayou Festival! Swing by my booth to check out my latest stained glass creations and find the perfect piece for your porch or garden.

What’s your favorite way to give glass a second life?

I love taking everyday items and turning them into something functional and beautiful. This upcycled green wine bottle was kiln-flattened into a sturdy spoon rest, features an embossed Tree of Life, and makes the perfect earthy addition to any kitchen counter.

I’m packing this piece up right now for the Black Bayou Festival! Drop a comment if you're planning to come out and visit the booth.
