I love the hunt; the thrill of finding that one piece you can't live without. Happy Hunting!

That one piece that makes you audibly gasp & smile! That's the feeling I hope you have when shopping House of James.

Every time I look at this strikingly beautiful painting (which is everyday because it hangs in my living room); I'm reminded of the friend who offered it to me! She found it at the Goodwill Bins without any scratches, cracks or broken pieces! She sent me a picture & I immediately fell in love ❤️!! She was so sweet and offered it to me for what she paid; $35!!!😲 Of course; she regretted it immediately 😆 but she knows I will cherish it always! You need a friend like mine...thanks again Katie Pilcher! It currently hangs next to my antique prints and castle pencil drawing (also thrifted 😉)! What do you think? Would you buy this? Where would you hang it? What amazing pieces have your friends given you? Happy Hunting!!

This beautiful coin purse is from the late 19th/early 20th century! Made from silver alloy in Germany! It originally had a leather lining but sadly this one does not. It doesn't distract from it's beauty or function though! What do you think? Would you buy this? If so; would you wear it or use it as a display piece? Either way; this is a stunning piece of craftsmanship! Happy Hunting!

Y'all I picked up this Iconic 1970s Pencil Reed Scroll Coffee Table today for $90 on FBMP!! 🤩 It is structural sound but someone painted it this hideous color. I'm going to clean, strip and refinish this back to its original glory; a beautiful tan/camel color! What do you think? Would you have bought this? It came with a glass top but I like it without! What are your thoughts? Glass or no glass? Happy Hunting!!

These are the top three (3) items/pieces I always thrift!

1. Pottery/Ceramics: You can find so many handmade, unique & rare pieces! They make great vessels for flowers, keys, jewelry, fruit, put them on a Gallery wall or just as is! I love studio Pottery!

2. Art/Frames: Again; so many unique & one-of-a-kind pieces! I'm not a fan of mass produced art. I want my home to reflect my personality and what I find beautiful; not what millions of other people have! Same with frames! I love finding really cool and interesting ones! I always pick these up; you never know when you will find a print or painting missing a frame!

3. Bookends: This one is actually my favorite! I have found some really cool ones! There are so many ways to use these! I obviously use them for their intended purpose but if you find a single one; don't pass it up! Use it as decor on top of a stack of books, as a doorstop or a decorative way to hold your cutting boards/cookbooks on the counter!

What are your favorite items to thrift? How do you use them? Let me know! Happy Hunting!

Holy Cow!!! I just scored a truly amazing piece! This Mid-Century Italian Heavy Cast Brass Chandelier!! It features Stylized Acanthus Plumes with eight arms; each one holds a very small bulb and has tiny holes which house beautiful hanging crystals!! The best part was the price...drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁...$5!!!!! Can you believe it!!?? Would you have picked this up? Would you use it as a chandelier, candelabra or something else? Let me know!! Happy Hunting!!

I freaking love funky lamps!! The bolder; the better, in my opinion! These are phenomenal!! From the White Ceramic Horse Head to the Bamboo Base with Green Crushed Velvet Fat Lava Shade and finally the Chinoiserie Style lamp with the Flat Pleated Cane Shade!!! Are you freaking kidding!!?? I want them all!! Which one would you choose?

Made in France! This Stunning early 20th century Perfume bottle set is to die for!! Beautiful floral ceramic bottles set in a sweetly ornate brass cage! 🥰 Both bottles still have the original brass tops and glass daubers! Missing the outer bulb but that doesn't distract from it's beauty! It's still functional as it's intended purpose or use it as a display piece! What are your thoughts? Would you pick this up? How would you use it?
