John is chopping a mortise into a new window sash he is building out of sapele to replace a missing sash.

Paint scraping has commenced. After it’s scraped. The surface will be lightly sanded to prepare it for its finish.

These shutters are getting some needed restoration. All broken parts are being replicated and replaced and all rot is also being repaired.

These massive storefront windows are fully restored. General contractor Steve Zerby is loading them up to bring them back to reinstall them. They turned out beautiful. These were a fun challenge.

Check out this 19th century black linseed putty! We use black linseed putty today on some windows we work on and we find it once in a while in old windows but it’s still always fun to find.
