Let’s talk real numbers.
This guest room was a refresh — not a renovation.
No new flooring.
No electrical work.
No structural changes.
We added:
• An accent wall with peel & stick wallpaper
• New furniture pieces
• Layered bedding
• Lighting + decor
• Window treatments
The rest?
We intentionally reused what was already had:
•Wall Decor
•Mattress & Bed-frame
•Accessories
Total investment: $1,250
Since no design fees or labor fees were incurred, we were able to get away with such a small budget.
Here’s the truth:
Even a “budget-friendly” refresh requires thoughtful planning and realistic expectations.
Design isn’t expensive because of one item.
It’s the layering. The scale. The cohesion. The details.
Could you do it for less? Possibly.
But if you want it to feel finished — not pieced together — it requires investment.
If you were refreshing a guest room, what would you prioritize most?
Furniture, wallpaper, or bedding?
