Heat and health have made for a troubling few days of late but I'm still here, still making, fingers crossed for cooler temperatures. It's interesting how excited I am at the thought of the coming autumn while knowing I am almost totally night blind and will soon be effectively housebound as the sun starts to set.

Sadly, I don't have many pictures of my recent cards. The dragon ones are a new take on an old idea, making use of two dies I'd never used before. I suppose you could say this is a benefit of having so many supplies now that I can't afford to buy new ones.

The balloon alien came from another vendor at yesterday's Port Orchard Farmers Market who "thought you needed a friend."

The water shots are from today's lunch. Faith and I shared a slice of pizza and a soda on the dock behind Seabeck pizza, a reminder that sometimes you don't have to be in a hurry to get home. I am so lucky to have her in my life.

The Saturday Market fast approaches. What do you have planned for the weekend?

Off to the Wednesday Port Orchard Farmers Market but first...more cards! The basket ones were start to finish during my youngest son's assessment review about an hour ago. :D

Another day with fingers crossed and a hope for lower temperatures, no falling, and holiday show acceptances...

I've kept busy with cards and chores at home. Wednesday was a bit more of an adventure than I would have liked. It was far too hot at the Port Orchard Farmers Market and I didn't realize how poor I felt until I took a tumble over a 35lb weight and landed flat on my chest on top of the pavilion I was trying to carry: "Huh. Why am I staring at asphalt? Why are people yelling at me?" Other than a bruised ego and scratched-up knees, I'm fine. Saturday's market was better both sales and temperature wise. Please refer back to the earlier reference for crossed fingers.

I have applications in for various holiday shows. It may not sound like much, but every show will bring in that much more money to keep the lights and heat on during the winter months. I enjoy vending and attending holiday markets both for the creativity present and for the atmosphere. Joyous atmosphere? Perhaps. Certainly pleasant. Shopping at a craft show is very difference than facing the crush of the Mall or staring at the computer screen and clicking a few buttons. At a craft show things are made with an appreciation for skill and imagination rather than using the cheapest material possible to make a quick buck. I don't mind quick bucks but I'd rather know someone is genuinely pleased when they open one of my cards.

Below are some of my most recent messterpieces, erm, masterpieces. What do you have planned for the week?

Still here, still making. Um, still swearing at paper but I think that's a given. Not being on FB quite as regularly has its downside yet I still feel it is a better option for now.

Aside from the smoke from wildfires and the cursed heate of summer it's been fairly calm of late. Cherry tomatoes from Jill Wetzel of Wanderpaw Acres are thriving and I haven't smashed any crafting tools into tiny pieces out of frustration. Thought about it but haven't done it.

What's on your plates for the rest of the week?

The pictures you aren't seeing are my sorting through and organizing gazillions (yes, it's an official measurement, don't judge me!) of craft supplies so I can spend the rest of the week making rather than stressing.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I crack me up sometimes.

Anyway, today was gym, errands, and soon shower, breakfast, and setting to work. Or a nap. Probably work. What are your plans for today?

Last night I was struck by a fit of "Don't think, just do." so I did. Rainwater backgrounds (old technique with the fun twist of using light rain to activate the Distress inks then a bit of salt for texture and more ink play), a die I hadn't used yet. No matter what, I like them.

It's hot. Like. . .hot hot. Puking sick icky hot. Hooooooooooot.

Anyway, cards I made over the past couple of days. Fingers crossed that the promised rain follows through.

There's something to be said about prepping for a special event. I'm not sure what, but I'm certain there's something.🤪

Hallo! Checking in after days without contact. I removed social media from my phone. I recognized it was becoming an unhealthy obsession that I needed to curb before it lead to more selfharm (yes, selfharm is a real concern.) I may not be online as often but I am still creating, stressing, laughing, and causing mischief. * cue manic Baby Shark theme *

Just got home from the third Wednesday Port Orchard Farmers Market. It's great to help a fledgling market grow and the crowd seems pleased to have us around. While it is smaller and more laid back than the Saturday market, there is a great selection of vendors and the musical entertainment is spot on. Definitely stop by on a Wednesday from 3PM - 7PM and enjoy the talent.

Kitsap Pride 2026 is this coming Saturday and I am stoked! I've been talking up the event and publicly celebrating the sponsors who helped Oddfellow Creations make booth fee: Sandi's Sourdough makes splendiferous breads and treats; Jill Wetzel of Wanderpaw Acres has a wicked green thumb and a love of growing things; the Hodson family are longtime friends who have supported my creative efforts and mishaps with patience, smiles, and a love of naughty cards. I really appreciate their help and support and hope to spread love, respect, and kindness with my cards at the event. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. Sappy. Deal with it.

Here's one of the recent cards, a gentle birthday wish.
