As an interior designer of 11+ years, here are 3 details absolutely worth your money in a kitchen. ⬇️
1) Dovetail Joinery on Every Drawer
Not something you see, but something you'll feel every time you open a drawer for the next ten years. Dovetail joints spread the weight of what's inside across the whole joint instead of resting on a few staples or dowels. It's the difference between drawers that hold up and drawers that eventually sag or split at the corners.
2) Soft-Close Hinges and Drawer Guides
It's a small line item most people don't think about until they're living in the space. Soft-close mechanisms protect the cabinet boxes, reduce noise, and hold up to daily use for years. We specify them across the board, not just on the expensive cabinets.
3) Under-Cabinet Lighting
It changes how the kitchen functions at night and how it looks during the day. Strip lighting under the upper cabinets illuminates the countertop work surface directly, which no overhead fixture can do as effectively. We build it into every kitchen plan from the start.
Save this before your next designer meeting.
